The Covington children in the native American confrontation were seeking confrontation and mischief.

They behaved like a mob, hooting and prancing around in a large 'pack', with one of them ripping his shirt off and leading chants.

The red MAGA hat is definitely the new white hood. The hat itself signals an intent to confront and intimidate.

If these children were peaceful as they purported, they would have turned their backs on the people harassing them and walked away. If they were Christian they would have turned the other cheek.

Surrounding and harassing a native American because the children were harassed by 'black Hebrews' doesn't even make sense.

An Ivy League professor bashed “the smiling face of Whiteness” in response to the recent controversy involving an interaction between a Native American man and a Catholic teenage supporter of President Donald Trump.

“Whiteness endlessly forgives its own transgressions,” University of Pennsylvania associate professor Ebony Elizabeth Thomas wrote on Sunday about the confrontation between Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann and Native American Nathan Phillips. “It rarely, if ever, gives those of us it harms and maims and kills time to process our motions [sic].”

Thomas teaches in UPenn’s Graduate School of Education.​

Conservatives are evidently confused between p*ssy hats and MAGA hats which are worn by p*ssies.

 

It no more represents an intent to confront and intimidate than a BLM shirt. The issue is how people react to it. It's one of those things we tell our kids, the only thing you're ever fully in control of is how you react to something - and people who freak out over a hat or a shirt that isn't violating the law in any way are not acting like adults. Furthermore, turning the other cheek, in effect laying down your life for someone as Jesus did does not necessarily mean letting others take it from you. I've read the Bible and Jesus was many things - but a doormat was not one of them. And as to the last point, it depends how you meant it - it doesn't make sense like pretty much 99% of human history, but then again it also doesn't make sense that these Black Hebrews decided they were gonna get in these kids faces, scream obscenities and act like teenagers. You're overlooking the fact that this whole thing was instigated BY the Black Israelites, and that the press acted like irresponsible buffoons in reporting it before they'd gotten the whole story - because the incomplete story suited their narrative.

That's actually the second most damning part of this story - that the people who use the First Amendment have this power but act without responsibility. The MOST damning part is that the press learned nothing from it and will do it again and again and shredding what little credibility they have remaining. Ultimately, the press doesn't need Trump to make them look bad - they're doing a fine job of that on their own.
