Yes, war brings out the worst in people, so it's clearly not the best solution, long-term.

Funny thing about war, it brings out the best in people too.

If the soldiers of Syria did it, Western politicians would have ripped their mouths from squealing. They would call for an immediate bombing Syria. If US soldiers did it, then this is a small mistake. Western psychology is ugly.

I can't predict the future, but I did fear the building up between Central Asia(Russia, China with loose affiliations of Turkey, Iran, etc.) While one nation alone might not topple the US, a united front might actually stand a chance of a decent fight. Hell, even the Pentagon knows that which is why they've tried playing them off the other.

While the smaller players end up creating chaos on the geopolitical scene, it's ironically "preferable" to mutiny against the US in the world order.

I really like the way you picked up on the lingo from those 1930's and 40's melodramas.

Do you really see Central Asia, Russia, China, Turkey and Iran united against the USA? The worst thing you have to fear...,etc....

It's a plausibility, still a very real one. That's why Washington tried to get India on our side, and equally why China gave assurances to Pakistan. The world map is centered around a fire brewing in Central Asia. It's also an opportunity for us to break the Central Asian powers, with an alliance with either one of Russia or China. That's why I was in proponent of the Smart Treaty, way back in 2010. I was a proponent of making Russia a western ally, even if not a perfect one.

But that same opportunity exists with China as well. In fact, it might be easier for a Chinese-US alliance given economic ties between the two nations, and friendly Chinese-European ties as well. It might be wiser to use China as the bulwark against the Russians, and ultimately to diminish Central Asian power against the US.

If we can get a Chinese-Japanese alliance and end a nearly two century feud, that'd be even better.(And IMO, more doable than the Israeli-Palestinian mess.)

The latest example is the latest attacker, his parents were 'let in' and this is the result. While the concert attacker is 2nd generation I'm curious as to who the others were that were arrested in connection.

Fewer Tears, Fewer Lies, And More Righteous Anger. “Grieving doesn’t work. Hugging doesn’t work. Cowardice masquerading as enlightened passivity in the face of our enemies doesn’t work. Just ask the little girls blown apart in Manchester.”

I say the following without any affiliation with the political party whatsoever - only UKIP has the will to do what's necessary to put the enemy on the defensive. The others either don't want to, or don't understand the gravity of it - I suspect it's the latter.
