You missed Ford and Carter too.

Ford played too much football in college WITHOUT a helmet.

Carter was attacked on The White House grounds by a rabbit.

That's the dirt on those two.

Nixon was a crook. Even though he denied it.

Nixon was still alive when Jimmy Carter was President.

Oh, I remember them. I was young, but used to laugh at Ford's faux pas. I hated Carter. What a useless peanut farmer stuffed in a leisure suit.

    Remember Billy Beer? lol

That was a really big flop, Billy Beer.

Liberals aren't big beer drinkers, they are wine drinkers and pot smokers.

Billy Beer was doomed to fail before they bottled the first bottle of Billy Beer.

Right now there are only 3 questions on my mind (besides who will go to the Superbowl this year):

    - will Mueller's investigation exonerate Trump or send him to impeachment?

    - will the GOP lose control of the Senate in the elections coming up this fall?

    - will Trump be re-elected in 2020 or dumped like GHW Bush and Carter were?

In Trumps case im sure he is loving it. Gives him more to twit about. To him popularity is the sum of approval + disapproval. As long as folks are talking about him good or bad don't much matter.

Popularity and politicians are strange bedfellows. Too popular and you are probably not a very good leader and a better than average apeaser looking to get re-elected. That is why i would favor the presidency as a single 6 year term. 6 years without having to concern over being popular enough to get relected and waste time on the campaign trail would equal 2 four year terms. A single term president could be more focused on leadership and less focused doing what is right for the country long term instead of the short term mindset that we have today.

I wasn't saying any president was the worst. Just providing approval ratings, high, low, average. Whom was the best or worst president is very subjective and usually very partisan. I'm one of those who don't think whether a president's approval rating in office means much when history weighs their presidency.

The president who had the highest approval rating at any one time in their presidency since FDR was G.W. Bush, but that doesn't make him the best since FDR. Truman at 22% had the lowest approval rating at any one time during his presidency, but that doesn't make him the worst. The president who had the highest average approval rating was JFK, that also doesn't make him the best president since FDR either or Trump the worst at 40%. Trump still has at least 3 years to go.

I was born right after WWII, but was too young to personally experience the Truman presidency. But from IKE on, yes. I would rank IKE as the best president I have personally experienced.

I love history and am old enough to have lived quite a lot of it. At least from 1946 on.

Exactly. I think the reason for that is his persona. His constant foot in mouth disease. He grates on people. If you're not an avid Trump supporters, it gets to a point when ever he comes on TV, you switch channels or when someone is talking about one of his tweets, you switch channels.

Personally, I like some of his policies and dislike some. But I can't stand the man. His uncouth, obnoxious, egotistical, very un-presidential behavior drives me up the wall.

He was also famous for 2 more:

1 - I feel the sun and the moon and the stars have all fallen down upon my shoulders.

2 - ... They (Japan) will experience a rain of fire from the skies like none other in the history of mankind.

Truman was POTUS when I was born but I can't remember it.

Ike is the first POTUS that I remember, and all I remember is the mention of his name by my parents and also his NYC victory retirement parade. He wore his general's uniform instead of a suit like a politician or banker.

My mom and dad loved Ike and hated JFK. But that was mostly because JFK was Navy and Ike and my dad were both U.S. Army. If you are Army (or USMC) then the Navy is your enemy.

We sure could use another "Give them hell," Harry S. Truman. It's one thing to be outspoken, straight forward and another to go around creating feuds and calling people names. I don't think or can't remember Truman ever negatively personal attacking anyone. The closest I can think of was when he was talking about Eisenhower. Truman said something akin to, "Poor Ike, he'll say do this and do that and nothing will happen. It won't be a thing like the army."

It's all about how one feels. If it's true what they say about age bring wisdom, I ought to be a pretty smart.

I remember IKE fondly. Like you, I was too young to remember Truman as president. I'd have been only seven when Truman left office. I liked JFK, navy aside. Although I backed Nixon in 1960 at the ripe old age of 14. In fact, there hasn't been a president I personally disliked. When asked to rate the president I have personally experienced, IKE is number one, JFK two.

The worst I have always had Carter and Ford at the bottom of my list. Carter surprised me, he was a mighty fine governor and I expected him to be the same as president. Still, I voted for him twice.

Nixon was a good president regardless of that minor incident that he mishandled.

Its far too early to judge Trump.
