What they are proposing is neither a popular vote nor an electoral college vote. It is a bastardized combination of the two. The votes of the people in those states who elect to participate may not count at all. I wonder how long it will take them to figure out that their votes might not count.

It is likely that some states will have their electoral votes go to a candidate that did not get the majority of the popular votes in their state. Is that really what they want?

Pretty much. The lunatic left is trying to destroy every institution in this country. Doing away with the EC, packing the court.
They won’t be happy till they start a civil war they’re bound to loose.

Not true. Suppose the CA and NY votes happen to be 50%/50% or close to that. Heck, little R.I. could decide the election, so stop the whining.

There's no reason to suppose they are incorrect. These blue states all support illegals living there, and electoral college votes are based upon the amount of people (legals AND illegals) living in their states, so naturally this is going to get rid of the electoral college, which is what they want, but can't get passed as a constitutional amendment.

Honestly, I admire the deceit, while also warning that they're going to start a civil war if this actually works.

Imagine on election night, and the republican wins the majority of the states, but doesn't get the popular vote... There's no way that states with small populations are going to put up with the blue states and their illegal immigrants being able to swing an election.

Or even better, imagine the opposite, and all those blue states who pledged to vote for the popular vote winner finding out that Trump won the popular vote, but not the electoral college vote...

I'm pretty sure those blue states would decide that maybe they acted a bit hastily, and would vote their state's vote. Especially if it meant that Trump wins the popular vote, but not the electoral college vote.
