well since I was a federal law enforcement officer for 24 years and my component's firearms instructor-who on top of that-reviewed shootings by federal LE officers-tell me what do you think that extra training involves and how it translates into dealing with active shooters

1) writing police reports-NO
2) interviewing witnesses and suspects-NO
3) preserving evidence and chains of custody-NO
4) preparation for court appearances-NO
5) investigating crime scenes prior to the arrival of detectives-NO
6) meeting and following civil rights guidelines-Miranda etc-NO
7) handling traffic stops-NO
dealing with domestic relations issues-NO
9) defensive driving skills and pursuit skills-NO
10) supporting stake out officers-NO


so tell us Vegas. what does that extra training mean? I shoot every week. did yesterday, did this morning. I train constantly. how about cops? sort of doubt it

Vegas aside, too many on the left, using the net like to toss out accusations about people whom they have no knowledge of, they assume they are always the brightest bulb in the box, without any actual knowledge of how little they actually know.

Sometimes, what one doesn't know, about what they don't know, can really bite them in the fanny.

Then there are their outright anti-gun liberal lies, such as people in their 60's claiming to have children in school, if true, those children (now in their 30's or so) must be a bit slow in learning, to be in school "for children."

And of course the other major lie, anti's claiming they own firearms, but on a regular basis post pictures copied from the same net they pollute with their falsehoods, they actually don't posses' firearms, but try to get credibility by claiming such.

The good part is they have short memories and the more they post the more apparent it becomes they are lying through their teeth.

A wonderful part, as many liberal politicians are learning, once one states something on the net, it becomes easy to research cannot be scrubbed and then can be used to expose just how phony they actually are and how agenda driven they be.

I would hope not, because being a federal LEO is much more than writing speeding tickets, filling out accident reports and OR's about a neighbors dog taking a crap in the complaints front yard.

Federal LEO's actually combine a serious level of law enforcement, with a serious lever of legal skills, which is why they have a very high conviction rate.

Why don’t you specifically detail the criteria to be a candidate to to be employed as an armed school guard.

 

He's shot someone in self defense before. I wonder if VG has, or if most of the cops responding to a school shooter have. TD certainly practices a bunch and is a great shot. That's two things in my book I'd like to have to defend a school.

One thing missing in this debate, is no rational person would expect teachers to be trained as some in-house swat response to hunt down and neutralize an active shooter. Rather, extend to teachers their 2A right to self defense... and extend that self defense to provide in situ defense of children as any armed citizen would do in their own house for their own children. It is a last ditch defense that should also be augmented by layers of security, such as hardened, lockable, windowless class room doors, video suvailance of interior spaces, published scenario reaction plans, lockdown/evacuation drills, lockable hardened hallway bulkhead barriers, etc.
For those worried about teachers with guns and potential accidents, I have news for you, I carry every day and no one about me knows as do many people in my state. I am around children nearly any public place I go as are others with CCL’s.

I learned a long time ago many of those in the anti-gun movement can be anything they choose to be in order to give themselves credibility, however they often forget what they claim never disappears, is researchable and quite often comes back to bite them in the fanny, destroying what little credibility they might have ever had.

 

I have learned that those that lose the debate resort to personal attacks.
