Many school and SO's districts lack the funding to place a deputy in each school and as our Sheriff Steve Whidden has so correctly stated, what happens if the SRO being uniformed is the first person shot, then what.

Much better to place well trained and vetted, armed concealed carry holders, in the school, that way should someone attack a school they have no idea who is carrying and who will be shooting back.

By the way the Sheriff got around the Florida law that prohibits citizen concealed carry in schools by deputizing the volunteers, deputies are allowed to carry in schools open or concealed.

 

Pay your taxes. My kid has a cop in the school. Our kids are worth it

 

I think we should just arm all kids. Get them concealed carry permits and send them to school armed. It will save lots of money by not having to have security guards or armed teachers.

 

Especially the preschoolers. The sand box can be a tough place

Now that everyone knows that schools are targets those without ample armed security should be closed.

 

And they should be cops....if you care about kids

 

Professional police departments have proved that alone they are very ineffective crime fighters. There will never be enough of them to put much of a dent in crime. But there is no shortage of retired people with police an military training who would volunteer to sit at a card table on every floor of every school ready to react instantly to any attack. Cost: card table, decks of card, coffee maker, school lunch (optional).

 

It would be if: 1. there was actually an NRA cult. 2. There were actually any death threats. 3. The death threats had any connection with the NRA.

Some proof would be good. When the police investigate these things they usually find proof of a crime rather quickly.

That would be every school in my state. My state by the way has never had a death from a school shooting. My state by the way has over 50% gun ownership.
