Ever hear of IDPA? I was once a serious competitor. Some of the guys in the Gun Control section competed in IDPA and/or IPSC and some still do. Many of the scenarios are from the real world. They can be very humbling as well as sobering. Now you can run them from a MILO. Of course you have no idea of what that is.

You should read up on the recent church shooting and the guy that stopped it with his personal weapon. He was in a prolonged gun fight and was telling cops they better get their fast because he was running out of ammo.

He hasn't a clue about what he's talking about and like most liberals will resort to personal attacks as a last and weak resort.

I have 30 hour osha training, excavation, confined space, fall protection, scaffolding competent person certificates, reach lift, boom lift, and scissor lift certificates, as well as first aid, CPR, and AED certificates. I wish I could say I already have enough to do...

Some teachers could and would be armed if they were allowed

OK, now that we've established that you know nothing about teaching or education, I suggest that you take a drive past your neighborhood school on your way to work. All the staff is already there, and more than half of the teachers and staff will still be there when you drive home.

I realize that you far right wing types need cartoons and simplistic stereotypes to substitute for reality.

C'mon Tom, it's really a pretty good gig, even if a bit underpaid. The pension and benefits compensates for this a lot. The unions are what really cripples them.

So they don't get spring break off? Christmas week off? Every holiday on the calendar off and summers?

By the way most of my working life I left the house at 4am and got home at 6pm. Don't tell me how long and hard teachers work.

First of all, most of your acquaintences that you say took jobs teaching because they failed at "real world job" are the kind of people that we don't need in education (if your highly prejudicial and crass description is even accurate).

Second, George Bernard Shaw was responsible for the phrase you misquoted. Unlike you, he had a grasp of English grammar.

As I said, you have no idea. But you're devoted to your stereotypes and your self proclaimed (an obviously non existant) made up expertise.

I didn't say Glen Beck called for a civil war. I saw your attempt to put words in my mouth.

I said he entertains his right wing fringe audience with constant fantasies and illusions to an imaganary possibility of one, justified by how put upon his poorly educated lower class white audience sees itself as being.

Ominous warnings and civil war fantasies are all over right wing fring media, as I documented with Beck's fact free rant

    on the subject.

Where do you get the idiotic notion that teachers in private schools are paid better than ones in public schools. This is almost universally NOT the case. Nor do they have any significant ongoing training, development, or the pension and health benefits public employees have.

The poster I was responding to said pay was not the issue so where did you get the idiotic idea that it was? Your reading comprehension is a good example of our public schools failures.

    https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/23/teacher-turnover-rate_n_5614972.html
    From your link
The high turnover rates are sometimes due to layoffs, “but the primary reason they leave is because they’re dissatisfied,” said Richard Ingersoll, an education professor at the University of Pennsylvania whose research on teacher retention was published in the report. Teachers say they leave because of inadequate administrative support and isolated working conditions, among other things. These losses disproportionately affect high-poverty, urban and rural schools, where teaching staffs often lack experience.”

    Nothing about pay

The right talks about civil war because the left is on the brink of starting one with it's riots, lootings, arson and cop killings.

I stand corrected. I could have sworn the quote was in the grammer I used and from now on I'll quote it accurately. It's good commentary no matter how you say it. I do think there are great teachers with a real thirst to teach but they are few and far between and those that exist become disillusioned in our broken public schools and often leave the profession.

But it shouldn't be JUST because you disagree with what the other side believes. With 320M people we SHOULD have different ideas and beliefs. What a boring ass world it would be if we all thought the same exact way.

The link you provided before did not specifically mention pay. Therefore it's obviously NOT as much an issue as you say. If it was, the link you provided before would have mentioned it.

Wait...I thought you needed 15 rounds for self-defense? Now you're telling me you need if for the games you play through IDPA. Wow.

Games? Really? LEO's and military are often contestants. In fact LEO's are participants in actually learning combat shooting and useful things like shoot/don't shoot. You got beyach slapped on this one and you know it. So does everyone else.

I prefer people to back up what they claim...I'm funny like that. It's called accountability. Guess I was just raised differently.
