Although Yang's challenge is sophomoric and not worthy of a presidential candidate, what he says is distinctly and objectively better than almost anything Trump says. Every word Yang said is true.

 

Unfortunately that is true. In our lifetimes (unless you were born in the 1930s), only two presidents have failed to be re-elected: Carter and Bush Sr. I don't count Ford because he was never elected president in the first place. Eight have been re-elected in the same time period (plus Johnson who was not elected to his first term).

The incumbent president has a huge advantage, so Trump may very well get re-elected. And although he jokes about serving more then two terms (and in joking, he is really hoping that people will take that up and remove the term limit for him) he is lucky that the term limits are in place. If he had faced Obama he would have lost. Badly.
