These are worldwide figures, I wonder how the US figures differ. It seems like apple is slowly loosing market share in every which avenue.

They are losing marketshare on both fronts. Worldwide marketshare is simply eroding faster.

Maybe because Apple still has their heads up their asses when it comes to Flash websites which are a lot of them. :p

I recently went along when one of my relatives went to buy a tablet. We ended up agreeing the the Ipad mini but only because she was mostly going to use it for books and for basic stuff like finding restaurants. Weight was also a major factor because of her wrists. Also, while I found the Apple tablets to be better as of now (cept the flash thing) just like the iPhones their competition will eventually come out with a superior product. There simply is no comparison between today's iPhone and the new Samsung Galaxy 3 and soon to come Galaxy 4s coming out. The iPhone compared to the Galaxies is like comparing an abacus to NSA super computer. Apple makes small incremental improvements while their competition makes ginormous strides.

Apple has no place in the technology world. Their forte has always been marketing, but now their marketing genius is gone. Eventually, they will be, too.

A friend of mine bought a Nexus 7 yesterday.

OMFG, what an awesome tablet. Great display, very fast, vanilla Android. Very easy to hold and use. Only downsides are no SD storage and and no rear camera. Other than that it is probably as close as I have seen to a perfect tablet.
