Consumer Reports bought a Fisker Karma hybrid for $107,850 and it broke down before it could even be tested. The Fisker company received a $529 million loan from the US taxpayer to build a plant in Delaware, part of the "Green Energy" initiative, only to move operations to Finland. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ivhp-i6i3vE&feature=player_embedded#! http://autos.yahoo.com/news/bad-karma--our-fisker-karma-plug-in-hybrid-breaks-down.html
I see! The failure of a particular new product determines ALL products? Then shall we assume the failure of BP's deep water oil rig in the Gulf ends ALL deep water drilling of oil?
Sure, why not? That doesn't change the fact we have the power to unilaterally kill all green energy in America now and forever. And that's what we are going to do. It's too bad green energy was politicized.
There is a long list of failures. Windmill bird killer farms, Solyndra et al. solar boondoggles, Geothermal failures galore, The Volt, The Fiskar. Don't act like this is an isolated incident. Stop lying. The only viable alternative energy source right now for vehicular transport is natural gas. BP was an isolated failure among huge success. Get a clue.
How was it an "ISOLATED" failure? Because it was confined ONLY to the MILLION SQUARE MILES of the Gulf of Mexico?
No genius. Because there are thousands of rigs in the gulf and this was the one that failed among all of those successful wells. You really are losing credibility here.
I wonder how many Americans know that President Algae is so eager to promote green cars that he's even giving their money away in foreign countries? I'm sure the pro Obama lib news media is not keeping them informed about that.
BP was also isolated temporally. The last previous blowout in the Gulf was in 1979. PEMEX The last blowout in US waters was in 1969. Santa Barbara Literally generations between blowouts.
The problem with "green energy" is not the technology per se. The problem is that taxpayer money is being squandered by the government trying to force technology. When the technology is ready, its advance will be irresistable. Viz: Cellphones. The tech dated back to the 1950s but the phones were clunky and hideously expensive. Not until the 1990s did the technology exist for reasonable sized phones. But once that technology became available, cell phone towers sprung up like dandelions and land lines were doomed.
Exactly. If lib moneybags like George Soros or Warren Buffett want to risk their capital on green energy projects I don't mind in the least. Let them become even richer than they already are with my blessings. But libs who worship at the alter of big government don't believe in risking their own money when the taxpayer is sitting just waiting to be sheared by Obama.
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwVz5hdAMGU"]Bird killed by green energy - YouTube[/ame] I can only wonder if the Government will hold the wind power companies accountable for the destruction of these endangered species like they have the oil companies. i doubt it.
Doesn't seem like the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf are exactly setting the world on fore with their sales either. Oh wait I stand corrected, seems as if their batteries like to burn in crashes http://www.forbes.com/sites/jimhenry/2011/12/12/chevy-volt-battery-fires-threaten-all-electric-ve/
I don't see how you can say it failed, Dave. They've made millions. My god, will you next be suggesting that Solyndra failed. And, the folks who got $10,000,000 as a prize from the government for producing an affordable $50 light bulb. Do you think they "failed"? These "green" companies are making money hand over fist.
You don't have to dig very deep to find that those who are getting all those 'green bucks' are also LIBs with political influence. Can you say 'Chichagoland'?
gee how much is wasted trying to find oil... and then it not being there "We learn by doing, by taking risks, by failing, and, only then, by succeeding. We grow from our mistakes and from our failures. If we cannot see that failure is the essential other half of success, then we try to avoid the failure and, in so doing, we avoid success." ~ '2150 AD' by Thea Alexande
Amen, when republicans do not like something they try and villainize everyone with anything to do with it, but then when something like bp happens, oh well accidents happen
how about Nuclear power plants.. don't support that either I suppose "BP was an isolated failure among huge success. Get a clue.".... lol, yeah right how many creatures did BP and other oil companies kill?
Even Obama isn't dumb enough not to understand that affordable 'green energy' is decades away. He also knows that no amount of tax payer money thrown down the crapper will help these 'green' companies ever to become viable. So why is he throwing all this money away? VOTES!!!!!!!!!!! The 'green energy' base basically resides in Cal. and it's going to be Cal. that decides the election. This part of his base couldn't give a rat's ass how much tax payer money Obama squanders as long as 'big oil' doesn't get any. It goes to a very deeply held 'save the planet' ethos. Trouble is, as with so many LIBs they are completely clueless when it comes to living in the here and now real world.
How to become a green millionaire. In 7 easy steps. #1 Start a green company!!! It doesn't matter what you actually do or if its even green. Just call it green. #2 Make campaign contributions to Obama and the democrats. #3 Get government grants and guaranteed loans from Obama and the democrats. #4 Use that money to make even bigger campaign contributions to Obama and the democrats. #5 Use the rest go give yourself a huge salary, bonuses, and golden parachute. #6 Have you green company declare bankruptcy. #7 Take a job with Obama and the democrats as a green expert.
Its funny, but this isn't even that far off the mark. If the owners of these green companies after failing were walking away broke, I'd actually respect them. But since they're walking away richer than when they started, AFTER FAILING...seriously, WTF??? As a part of a govt grant, NONE of it should pay salaries and especially not bonuses. Eliminate all the morons using it as a personal investment. Its getting completely out of hand.
Obama will continue to place the same bad bets for the U.S. taxpayers until we send his "skinny ass" back to Chicago where he definitely belongs! Obama could care less about the destruction of 3,900 pallets filled with glass tubes that were used to make Solyndra’s solar panels. After all, the money for this fiasco was paid for by the U.S. taxpayers. Obama's bad decision did not cost him one red cent!
