No one questions that Hunter got the job because of his last name. Burisma had just fired a corrupt CEO and was looking to clean up their image. Hiring a US politician's son was good for their image. But there is no evidence, at all, anywhere, that any kind of "paid access" happened . . . unlike the evidence we have of Trump's kids charging people to meet Donald and Ivanka after they took office.

As for whether or not Hunter was a "bright guy," the truth is somewhere in between. Yes, he got the offer because of his last name. No, the oft-cited claim that he got this job right out of college and that he had no relevant experience isn't remotely true either. He's a Yale and Georgetown graduate. He got his doctorate almost 20 years before he served on the board of Burisma, and he already had experience serving as a chairman of the board before then.

Let's say Joe was "the Big Guy." So what? This was AFTER he left office. And they weren't negotiating a "deal calling for payment." They were negotiating for equity, which 99.99% of the time means people buying in.

There simply is no logical way to play equivocation here. The Trumps have been caught running actual con games, lying to investors, stealing from charity, etc. Nothing comparable has been demonstrated with the Bidens, except that Hunter traded on his name . . . which, even then, the Trumps have them beat by a country mile.

 

Sure, just like everybody knows that the only thing Hunter Biden had to sell was his dad.

But everyone will pretend like that isn't true as well.

The company earns its income solely by selling access to the FORMER Vice President while he is Vice President to a an enemy country. It doesn't get much more corrupt than that in my view. No problem with him investing in a company that doesn't sell political access to him in order to enrich his family. Pretty clear.

 

1) You have no evidence this is the only way they make their money. That's just something you made up on the spot. A complete fabrication. 2) As a FORMER VP, there is no "access" to be sold. This is vapid nonsense. You can't sell "political access" to someone with no political position. Please try actually thinking these things through before posting. Please.

If the FBI verifies any of it true, then I will concede. Until then, I believe the FBI will end up arresting people that were involved with falsifying this fake story.

In your previous post, you asked what the issue was. I answered you and gave you several other instances of Biden's mendacity. If none of that piques your interest, I don't know what to tell you.

"Being on a board" is not service. I misused the word grifting, and so I retract that. But serving on a board at that salary with no experience in the field stinks. Grifting is not the right word. "Influence peddling" I think fits.

Trump's no choir boy, but at least he isn't drawing a salary. Maybe he's stealing White House china, I don't know. But let's stop with the Good Old Honest Joe routine. I don't think he shoveled too much coal either, though you'd think he had black lung disease. More like black tongue disease. Hey, that's pretty good, you gotta admit!

 

Further to my previous post, what is being ignored here is that Joe Biden was in a position to help this foreign corporation only by virtue of his having held elective office. He wasn't elected to trade on his name. You know that Hunter resigned his position from that Chinese corporation, right? Why do you think he did that? He knew perfectly well it was not a "so what?" situation.

And yes, I have the same problem with all former presidents and vice presidents, and cabinet members who have done this, especially including the Clintons.

 

This has superficial appeal, but Honest Joe continued to be connected after 2016, and surprise, surprise, here he is at the top of his party's ticket. He knows guys who knows guys. We don't want to be too cynical, but we don't want to be babes in the woods either.

It's the way the world works, and I accept it, but we can't pretend it's not dirty.
