the callous contamination of ground water should be enough of a reason to end fracking, polluting water the source of all life for the sake of profit and cheap energy is absolute insanity...

What an amazingly interesting article. You would almost think that the scientists could predict earthquakes, what with them knowing where they are coming from now. Oh wait...that's right...they can't predict them...but are very certain they know that putting fluids into geologic formations makes a difference...I wonder what is in those formations prior to injection..???...wait...fluid! Imagine that! There is already insitu fluid in nearly every pore space underground because that's what pore spaces hold! And adding fluid to a system full of fluid now might make earthquakes possible! What an amazing circle of logic!

Does anyone even stop for a second to determine if oil and gas production, in lowering the fluid pressure in those same pores, causes earthquakes? We should stop all oil and gas production and related activities immediately...some people were killed in an earthquake somewhere...once....!!

Yeah well as soon as fracking starts polluting ground water, we can talk about it.

way to stay informed have you been asleep for the last decade...pollution of ground water has long been confirmed 5% of fracked wells leak immediately, 50% fail in 10yrs...

Look wyly, you might be able to sell that sort of nonsense to those who don't know any better, but its a crock. Long been confirmed my ass, as of no more than a year or three ago the EPA was forced into admitting that at that point in time, after MILLIONS of frac jobs, there were no documented cases of ground water contamination. What really torques me off is people say things about ground water contamination without even understanding the extent of the process that everyone goes through to make certainly exactly that doesn't happen.

Yep! I'm sure they have a model for predicting earthquakes (it has to be fracking, we accounted for everything else), and there is a consensus among scientist.

Just like fracking for natural gas, another example of environmentalist blocking "environmentally friendly" energy sources.

Except fracking for natural gas isn't a problem either - just more environmentalist babble. And, they wonder why we can't take them seriously.

The warmers goal isn't avoiding man made global warming, it is to return man to, at best, just another animal (hunter gatherer), at worst to remove the plague of man from an otherwise pristine world.
