Agreed. I agree with removing ICE and HLS, but definitely want their jobs to continue through other organizations. Fewer organizations = more efficiency, as a general rule.

 

Why? It isn't as though civilian authorities are unable to do the job, and there are no guarantees that the National Guard would do a better job.

Can you specify? Are you saying that we should keep DHS for just airport security and have the FBI do only counter-terror? I'm interested in your knowledge of this...as it's my work expertise.

If we need something like the DHS to handle airport security, I don't see why it can't stay to do that job. But it does seem superfluous to have it handling counter-terrorism when the FBI should be capable of it.

Since it's your expertise, I'm interested in what you think about it. Should everything remain as-is, or would you like to see it changed somehow?

 

Well I appreciate you asking my opinion. I think that DHS has a great training program, a great TMM as well. The FBI is not in any way a border patrol agency. Also, the FBI isn't even CLOSE to the only agency investigating counter terror. If you need me to cite you some counter terror agencies, I'm happy to do so. The FBI has a very specific purpose.

 

As I see it, the IRS could take over the watchdog role of sales taxes. All we want from the IRS is to watch over sales taxes collections. As to income taxes, simply abolish those. Go to the FAIR Tax.

Stop taxing income and tax consumption. Consumption is the true thing that can be unfair.

 

As a pilot, this is my view. Also as a passenger that flies from time to time, this is my help.

We had a serious problem in that passengers could walk into the pilots cabin and kill the crew and fly the airplane. Airplanes of today are superior and more hardened to keep this from happening. The searching of all passengers needs no longer be done. 9/11 is 18 years in our past and we have had no more illegal taking over of airplanes. I believe our aircrews can also be armed to help the pilot. We made vast advances.

I am not saying to stop hunting for metal objects that can board the airplanes. We made a mistake not seeking those in the past. We have to realize we have ways to silently search. We can use metal detection as we do. So keep doing that. We do not need to essentially strip search. We have x ray devices for that. We do not need to rip up luggage that has nothing wrong. I had this happen to me in Hawaii.

 

What do you expect from people who have disdain for our military and law enforcement? They’ll complain about how unfair it is that someone that works in fast food isn’t making $20/hour then spout suggestions like you responded to. Hehe

Well the CIA and FBI are investigative bodies, the DHS was put in place for airport and border security.

Go ask your well-trained CIA agent how much they'd love frisking down people in the airport after 2 years of human intelligence training.

You mean the established democrats are trying to distance themselves from AOC. Most of the candidates running in the Democratic primary think just like AOC. This is why Biden will need to move further left to win the primaries. They'll have old Joe "jumpin and fetchin" before it's all said and done. No one will recognize by the time the general election comes along.

 

Only Biden represents the established Democrats out of the top 4. Warren, Sanders and Harris are progressives and want the DNC to make some serious changes. They are also pushing for serious fundamental changes to the US.

Except we need border enforcement very badly now. There are much bigger fish to fry in terms of cutting government spending. After all hand outs are our biggest expense.
