They are treated equally under the law. If the military refuses them it's on liability grounds. The military has always denied people not fit for service, or who are a liability in some way. No transgender person is barred from schools or public accommodation. And no one denies that they exist. These are seriously sillly claims.
So if someone tells you they're a cat, you can't be sure they aren't? Are you sure you should be walking around unsupervised, if you can't tell fantasy from reality? That's usually grounds for close observation.
Very well said, thank you. Keep in mind these people are FIRST AND FOREMOST raving misogynists. They want to disregard all the gains the entirety of womanhood has made in terms of safety and 'exclusive spaces', and give them back to a handful of men. They would literally sacrifice all those female spaces - and the safety of our daughters and mothers - to satisfy the narcissism of a handful of males. Even if you look at the other side (female to male transgenders) it's active enabling of young girls to hate their female sex characteristics.
No. Women should have access to exclusively female spaces. We should not be made to suffer the animal anxiety we all have, when in vulnerable situations amongst male strangers. We fought too long and too hard for these small boons, and you want to strip them from your sisters and daughters and hand them back to men? I sure hope you don't call yourself a feminist, BB.
Better let the Progressives know. They're working furiously to bring back racial segregation and sexism.
Is it also possible that humans self identify as various animals? Do you believe they are mentally ill?
Well yeah, Progressives do live in a sort of Twilight Zone. Massive entitlement and privilege does that to a person.
In some ways it's less 'insane' than thinking you're actually the other gender, but plenty of folk have imagined they're a different person of the same gender - and they're always regarded as mentally ill. You know, the "I am Elvis" types.
Being unable to accept yourself as you actually are. There are no circumstances where that isn't a disorder.
I'd say that the vast majority of people have some kind of self-esteem/identity crisis issues. So nearly everyone is mentally ill by your definition.
There's a world of difference between "I need to firm up my flabby ass" and "I'm so disatisfied with myself that I might commit suicide if I don't change my entire being". The vast majority of us dislike physical elements of ourselves and/or recognise that our character could use work - but we ACCEPT ourselves as is and carry on nevertheless. We don't focus in on it to the point of not being able to function. It's that degree of focus which pushes it to mental illness.
Most people have far more problems with themselves beyond a few body parts. If you actually get to know someone, they have a ton of insecurity and self-esteem and identity issues. Loving ourselves is actually harder for a lot of people than loving others. I'd also argue that there is no evidence trans people would commit suicide or can't function in society.
Here it is again: It's about the ACCEPTANCE of ourselves, warts and all, which distinguishes us from those who cannot or will not accept themselves. Remember that acceptance isn't an emotion, it's an action. We do not allow our perceived flaws to prevent us functioning. The mentally ill allow their perceived flaws to inhibit functioning. That's the crucial difference.
No, self-acceptance or the lack thereof is highly emotional at its root. Its really a belief with a lot of emotions mixed in. Trans people are very capable of functioning in society. I have several trans co-workers and they perform as well as anyone else.
Okay ... let's try this another way. If you can't function UNLESS you do something drastic to alter your very being, then you are not functioning - period.
