This is especially the case when the anti-gun left thinks it can use the dead bodies to push its agenda.

They would have access anyway. Getting a firearm illegally is not at all difficult. All you would do is trample the rights of those who are normal law abiding citizens. I would rather make it easier for normal law abiding citizens to protect themselves from psychos, rather than have the police show up after it is too late to find dead citizens that had no means to defend themselves.

Gun violence is so prevalent in the US that it has to be horrific to make the front page of any national news. You want to push the narrative that guns are good because there were two involved here but if you remove both guns from the picture, two people would be alive.

The only thing that’s stops a bad guy with a gun (after he has already killed people) is a good guy with a bazooka!

 

There is already enough of a background check system in place. If someone who has never committed any serious crimes is able to get a gun and then goes on a shooting spree, that is a risk I am more than willing to take over the alternatives of a government having the power to say “I don’t think you should be able to have a gun, because...”.

 

News is coming out on the shooter now. Looking more and more like it with reports of domestic violence and going through a divorce.

 

How do you know that?

Nobody dead at the dentist's office except for the dead SOB perp. Celebrate the greatness of America!

 

Then I would like to respectfully discuss which gun laws would have given us a better outcome than this citizen with a gun.

Did you really mean to say that? My son and I once attended a gun course held by the NRA and they were all about safety and nothing but safety. To say they PROMOTED a gun culture where shooting like these happen every day across the nation is wrong and there's no way you could prove that statement. Saying the NRA, who supports gun hobbyists, promotes shooting people is like saying Ford promotes car deaths or the Cooking Channel promotes obesity.

Just for the record, I don't agree with everything the NRA does, but I understand why they do it, and that's because once liberals take away or regulate something the momentum grows until everything they hate is gone. We saw that with statues and flags.

 

Had this happened in California, the patient with the gun would be arrested and the guy he shot would have a lawsuit against him. I kid you not.
