ARMY INVASION: Honduran Caravan Includes Military-Aged Male Migrants From Bangladesh, Haiti and Cong

Military action against them depends on if the civilians are US citizens or not, and what their actions are.

They won't be pulled aside and shot in the head point blank range execution style.

 

I don't think that anyone knows for sure what sort of people are in the now infamous caravan but I think that it would be naive to assume that they are unarmed. At the same time, I assume that most caravan members are simply poor Central American families with little to lose. Many of them may even consider incarceration in the US as an improvement in their conditions over life at "home".

No, I agree that they are unlikely to be executed, individually but I'm afraid that casualties will be inevitable if they attempt to storm the border, en masse.

It is precisely for reasons such as this that I think that US Troops should be brought home from occupying the Mid East to defend our own border rather than defending countries thousands of miles away(1)

The reporters who have been covering it can tell you that they're a lot of poor and desperate people looking for a better life.

Why do some people insist on all of this ridiculous fearmongering?

I agree & even stated that I thought that most of the caravan members are simply destitute families who want better lives for themselves & their children.

The "caravan" is certainly not like the Mongol Invasion but I think that it would be naive to assume that all of them are potential "Model Citizens".

On top of America's natural population growth, I don't know how many impoverished and needy people America can absorb as it seems like America's Social Services, Schools & Health care systems are stretched to capacity.

I don't know how stretched these institutions are. We could always use hard-working people, though. I agree that we could do without those who aren't "model citizens," although this can be a hard thing to judge. I think the main thing is behaving in a humanitarian manner so that we do not worsen the suffering of those who arrive or place them at additional mortal risk to that they have endured just getting up here to apply for asylum or whatever it is they are after, exactly.

As for deploying the military, maybe, if they're needed to keep the situation under control and handle the situation in an organized manner. Maybe a good job for the National Guard?

 

I suspect that those same 2 individuals would not want to actually pull the trigger in a real life scenario.
I'm reluctant to even kill the mice that share our food supply and can't even bring myself to shoot the groundhog who shares our vegetable garden.

The US isn't going to make the same mistake europe regrets.

 

I shoot the ground squirrel and rabbits that go for my orchard and make it risky for horses on my ranch.

 

Because its easier to cross through Mexico. Almost like we need a wall or something.

Dems would prefer to open the border to anyone who can walk, and to abolish the agencies that keep that from happening.

BANGLADESHIS JOINED MIGRANT CARAVAN IN GUATEMALA, UNIVISION CORRESPONDENT REPORTS
A Spanish language reporter who has spent weeks embedded with the migrant caravan said in a Friday report that people from Bangladesh had joined the mass of people trying to cross from Guatemala into Mexico.

Univision correspondent Francisco Santa Anna reported from the bridge separating Guatemala and Mexico. The bridge has been packed with thousands of migrants demanding access to Mexico, with the ultimate goal of crossing the border of the United States illegally. The caravan has now swelled to many thousands.

 

Theyre safe right where they are in Mexico.

Theres no need to come to the USA.

 

It still happens, but on a limited basis thanks to our coast guard and ICE/BP.

But its far easier to cross over land.

Even little old ladies can do it.
