That is what I said. My point there was based on all the people making up things about the article, such as claims the parents went public and assumptions that this was the result of a singular rape incident, that there is no way the parents or the girl herself couldn't be aware of a pregnancy earlier.

I did point out the legitimate questions over this specific claim being true but the fact that such cases can and do happen makes it relevant in the context of new (or newly implemented) laws which, on paper at least, don't seem to take account of such situations. Nobody here wants to discuss that those, which was my core point.

 

The story doesn't add up ffs. Meaning it's bullshit meant to be a headline to stir outrage based on a lie.

Second of all, I think that as part of a middle ground agreement that we can all agree to, is to provide for universal exceptions for rape, incest, threat to the mother's life. The other things, is honestly a morality test. Some will prefer sooner, some will prefer later. According to the stats, most abortions are done in the middle anyway so by setting an agreeable date, we can have abortions while respecting life for those who want to consensually engage in legal intercourse and have a kid or kids.

I looked up Ohio abortion laws and this situation should allow for an abortion. So something doesn't add up.
