That would also imply that Trump knew they were incompetent and fired them because they didn't resupply ... and then Trump knowing that they didn't resupply continued their incompetence by not resupplying after he fired them. Just an honest reply.

It does not say any person who needed a ventilator did not get one. The closest it said was "Widespread reports of ventilator shortages and the prospect of doctors forced to choose who will live and die have belatedly stirred the United States to action." That does not say that someone who needed a respirator did not get one. It only talked about a shortage and the prospect of that happening. The "prospect" does not mean it happened, only that it could happen.

I know exactly what shortage means. It means you do not have as much of something that you think you need. In the Air Force, we were required to maintain a inventory of spare parts. If we did not have that number, we had a shortage. It does necessarily mean that a piece of equipment was down because of lack of spare parts. Only that we did have enough spares.

 

Which would be relevant if the year was currently 2009. It isn’t. Trump is president and he failed to replenish the supply.
