I suppose that would be the logical idea.

I think every moon and planet has some water on it.

Some scientists believe we go our water from asteroid impacts, well if that is the case then that would mean ALL planets and moons have water because they had to have been hit too.

Yes, but this water - you know, which was on the asteroids? - went into a molten mass but didn't evaporate upon contact. I mean how did that happen? :icon_jawdrop::eyepopping:

(and if anyone believes that they'll believe anything! )

The BBC obviously does - but then tell the BBC you're an expert and they'll believe anything you tell them no matter how ridiculous. :wall: )

It almost certainly would have evaporated but that doesn’t mean it disappeared. At least some of that gaseous H2O could have been trapped within the molten mass and condensed in to the rocks as it cooled.

Except that there is no water on asteroids!

There y'go, a NASA link - straight from the horses mouth, as it were, so it was all a load of hokum but it took an ignoramus like me to spot it.

Just because asteroids are primarily made up of rock doesn’t mean they contain no water. You’re just making yourself look bad now.

"NASA Scientist Confirms Water Ice on Asteroid"

Ahem, it looks like that scientist, whoever he might be, neglected to tell his fellow scientists about it then; you'll have seen that my NASA link didn't mention water being a constituent of an asteroid's composition at all. It also seems that he can't tell the difference between water and ice either. Perhaps the charlatans should make sure they all sing from the same song-sheet if they want us (you? Not me though! ) to keep believing all the nonsense they churn out day after day.

What do you imagine water turns into when it gets really cold...you know, like space is. Here is a little hint so you don't hurt yourself thinking...you use it to make your drinks cold. And, just because you don't mention something really small does not equate to it not being there...did you see the insect parts ingredient on your Cheerios box?

Generally people do not mention things they are not talking about....

An advanced search of NASA will supply information about asteroids not found on the beginners page you linked to.
    Try again.

    Comets as well.....

Hey this isn't my theory. I just learned it from a documentary.

Believe what you like mate, it's your self respect that's on the line. And that also goes for any other 'believers' among us. I mean the charlatans depend on people like you for their lucrative jobs-for-life, and to dream up these off-the-wall 'explanations' for them - wish that I could get a piece of the action!

Sounds like someone like me  queried the original blurb so NASA had to publish an updated information sheet for the er, for the gullible? Result!! [IMG]

Well I must admit that I do have more important, nay interesting things to do - like watching the paint dry on a door I've just painted! Jesus how can you be so naïve and then have the nerve to cast aspersions on me for not being?
