    The age of consent was 7 in Delaware in 1898. So why should anyone expect that a 7th century desert Arab would wait until a girl became a teenager before banging her? According to the Babylonian Talmud age didn't matter at all to the Jews.

    When I say marriage I mean betrothal, which most likely occurred when she was around 10 or a little older. It is well documented there was a period of at least 5 years between then and the consummation of the marriage. Why? I'm not too sure, but her father, Abu Bakr, had to dissolve an arrangement he had previously made with another man over wedding Aisha. Its most likely as I said she was in her mid to late teens when she was finally left to live with Muhammad. Some believe she might have even been in her early 20s.

    I'm quite sure signs of being able to have offspring would have been a requirement.

    I think you're ignoring the historical record as recorded in the hadiths.

    If you use the links I gave you'll show the hadiths are actually what indicate she was quite older than the 'pedo' story would have you believe.
