Atheists assume there is no God because he doesn't knock on the front door and ask to be invited in for tea.

And basically, that's what atheists demand of God. Please come to my home and ask to be invited for tea.

But then again, maybe God has come to your house many, many times, and you have not invited him in for tea, but you slammed the door in his face instead.

On the other hand, maybe you did invite God in, and you've had tea with him many times.

Think about the homeless man, who comes up to you and asks you for some money.

    Do you give him any?

Or do you mumble something, and walk away?

And if you think its a bad idea to give him money, did you buy him a meal instead?

Is there anyone you know in a mental hospital? When was the last time you visited him?

When was the last time you called your mother?

Is there anyone you know at work who is shy and has few friends? Did you ever go over to him and introduce yourself?

Is there anyone in your family who struggles to make ends meet? Have you ever given him a loan, knowing there is no way he can pay you back?

Is there an old lady in your neighborhood who lives alone and has no one to talk to? Have you ever gone to her house and spent time with her, and maybe take out her trash and clean up a bit?

Is there a charity that is constantly asking for money but you toss their mailers in the trash?

The fact is, God is everywhere. And every time we reach out to someone, and give them a helping hand, we are helping God.

And everytime we turn someone away, or don't reach out, we are doing the same to God.

A lot to think about, I know.

Even the most devout Christians can sometimes forget this.

But here's the thing. If you don't believe in God, pretend he exists anyway. Pretend that God is in every person you know, especially those most in need of help.

Anyway, that's all I have to say.

That's one way of looking at God, since all gods are imaginary.

I also don't believe in Bigfoot because he has never stolen my car.

I also don't believe in <randomobject> because it has never <randomevent>

These arguments always lead to appeal to ignorance fallacies (you can't disprove my claim, so it must be right) that most people grow out of by high school.

Not surprisingly, you all missed the point.

And yet, you insist you are the clever ones.

The point you made was that you don't think atheists would do any of the things described in the OP.
The point you made is you are a constant and unrelenting troll.

Did I say that? I don't remember saying that. In fact, what I said was:

"On the other hand, maybe you did invite God in, and you've had tea with him many times."

    This was addressed to YOU.

Then why do another sweeping atheist troll title to your thread and address it to them?
You can't stop yourself can you?
Even when you said you would stop doing this we all knew you were lying when you said it. You don't do anything else. Gross, ridiculous generalizations of an incredibly diverse group of people.
You have become a caricature on PF, a completely predictable rubber stamp.
You set your tone and made your bed with the title and the completion of it in the OP.

So what, you want religion forum all to yourself? So you and your fellow atheists can do a circle-jerk?

In the political forums of PF I do not encounter the shrill and unreasoning hatred that I do from PF atheists. I have had to "ignore" so many of you, but not even one liberal, Communist, Islamist, conspiracy nut, or Obama supporter. Only atheists act so hostile. I think it's because you're afraid...

What I would demand is God providing better evidence than a book for his proof. I mean, burning your creations in hell because you think reading a book should be enough for them, even though you know it's not because you're omniscient is an abominable action, as far as I'm concerned. Why is my "crime" worthy of being tortured for eternity?

Atheists/agnostics- "Oh, hey, I have an open mind and everything, but could you prove that you exist in some way indistinguishable from pure probability ('miracles' such as being cured from cancer, or your team winning the Super Bowl) and in a verifiable/objective manner to others so I know I'm not crazy?"

    God- "LOL NOPE HELL"

Does that seem reasonable to you?

What the heck does wanting to help other people have to do with there being a God or not? Even animals take care or their own. Criminy.

Um, no, I see some claims to be backed up, though.

It seems to me that essentially every piece of evidence offered in this thread is utterly indistinguishable from normal things happening without being proof of god. It's the typical paradox - a universe in which your god is a figment of your imagination is utterly indistinguishable from a universe where your god exists as you describe him.

Even leaving room for a little artistic license, you're still wrong. Believe it or not, atheists have different reasons. Why, its almost as if we were individual human beings with our own opinions rather than an amorphous borg-like gestalt entity!

I don't demand or even request any such thing. I'm getting along just fine without her, so I have no need to demand anything from them, any more than I demand to have tea with Darth Vader.
