There is plenty of evidence to the contrary. There's that word again.

There are religious references in our doctrine of government, but that's not the same as saying we have a Christian government.

I'm a bizarre, violent, hateful, slightly crazy, unpredictable (*)(*)(*)(*)ing psychopath that really shouldn't be let out of a cage for the rest of my entire life.

Can you point to me in the Bible where god said you have a right to believe in me or another god or not at all?

C'mon LBS! The provision of cannon fodder in this thread is very much worth saving. When only a few people show up, the ammo for embarrassment purposes will be priceless.

    Well put.

I would rather people learned through trial-and-error/common sense/karma what to do and what not to do then because of what someone tells them in a book.

People are often looking for the easy way out...someone or something to tell them what to do - instead of just learning through trial and error and gaining wisdom from the process.

But your point is most well put.

That's funny. You'll condemn "two boys kissing" as some kind of morale absolute wrong, but I can't even get you to condemn slavery and the ownership of another human being as an absolute moral wrong...

And I cannot get this post to give one shred of evidence to back up his claims.

Possess what knowledge? We don't even use 90% of our mental capacity and you suggest we already possess the knowledge?

    How arrogant.

Sure I do. However, the presence of one doesn't negate the presence of the other.

It also says that Pi is equal to 3, rabbits chew the cud, and the world is flat.

Do you believe those as well?

    Red herring.

Mental capacity and knowledge accumulated by humans have nothing to do with each other.

I don't begrudge atheists. They have an absolute right to their beliefs. I am actually quite impressed with their faith. To believe that this whole world and the amazement it holds along with the entire universe came from absolutely nothing is an amazing belief to me. I am, again, impressed with their faith and do not hold them in low regard.

More idiotic assumptions. First of all, the big bang theory AND natural evolution are actually SUPPORTED BY PHYSICAL EVIDENCE. There is NO evidence of ANY kind that supports the existence of supernatural things.

What do you say to that?

No you don't. Whether you care to admit it or not, liberals/progressives learned their entire philosophy from books like the Communist Manifesto, Rules for Radicals or whatever the moron Noam Chomsky has recently penned. Hell, they base their idiotic views of the economy on the dribble of Paul Krugman.

Sure they do. That is unless you're so arrogant to suggest we already know everything.

Yeah. We don't know everything, therefore there must be a supernatural entity that intelligently designed and had the power to create this universe and living things on this planet, and despite this great power and intelligence, did a pretty (*)(*)(*)(*)ing crappy job, at that.

You sir, would be a GREAT investigator, with all your ability to reveal the past using clues....

    ...NOT!!! :D
