You know, what Mueller did, stepping outside as you said, was very similar to what Comey did when he assumed the role of "prosecution" when he admitted that although Hillary put Classified E-mails on a private server....she should not be prosecuted. Members of the deep state conspired and acted illegally to take him out of office. While badly done, it does meet my definition of a coup d'etat. The process for removing a President is defined in the constitution. The deep state decided to go around that process.
There is no "deep state" and there is no conspiracy. Our intelligence communities were doing their job, and that is to investigate when there is cause, and there is cause. Trump knows what buttons to push in the heads of those uninformed or misinformed. Trump has been skirting the law all his life and is still doing so.

I remember, shortly after the 2016 election, a well-known liberal member here calling on the military to step in. He was calling for a military coup. Don't mean to flame the guy, so I won't mention who he is. But it speaks to the mindset: Remove Trump through any means.
I looked back through the election threads and the amount of sobbing and teeth nashing coming from the left was unreal. It was especially odd because the lead up to the election had them literally celebrating a victory before the first votes were in. Making fun of Conservatives and other forum members, gloating nonstop turned into crying nonstop and then into outright hatred. I see the violence and damage they caused and they seem to celebrate and justify it. Some of those old threads and enlightening.
