That's a fantastic plan, except your people will be blowing their heads off in the streets and getting hit by 18 wheelers to prove a point and that (*)(*)(*)(*) is way too messy.

It is but we have to face up to it. But we could recoup by closing US bases and inviting other allies in for a price. That would help us out.

The Trump team is pretty sure there is an agreement, link below. P.S. The Trump team can send you a copy, ask them for one. Like I mentioned above, it wouldn't shock me if Trump reneged on the deal, we'll see.

So, Trump has alienated one of it's strongest allies. One of it's most faithful allies.

Who is Trump going to pick to replace us? Are you now going to ally with Russia?

Meanwhile we are free, thanks to Chump oops I mean Trump, to turn to other regional powers and give them the alliance we once had wth America

That is certainly Australia's rightful prerogative.

Well hopefully Australia is ran by adults and not a bunch of kids who will stomp, kick, cry, and go home if you tell them no. Maybe you lefties should sit this one out and let the grown ups handle it.

Yep Turnbull is an adult, as well as a millionaire in his own right, and is far far far more mature than Trump

Good God man, stop being so melodramatic and hypersensitive. Not taking your illegal sharia law supporting pieces of (*)(*)(*)(*) doesn't mean you're not our allies anymore. The adults in Australia will understand this, thankfully.

Other countries need us more than we need them. Australia is staring at a serious threat from China, if they want to partner up with Russia and confront them then have at it.

When Obama moved us away from being exceptional to ordinary you said nothing. Now you seem to want us to be exceptional again in just two weeks.

Oh, and if we should happen to take in these refugees, they should go to San Francisco, they'll love it there.

Trump is not treating our allies as allies and after spending so must blood by out sides it could be annoying enough for them to tell us to go......!@##$ the next time we ask for their aid.

Australia has been trying to shove its refugees into other countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia by making sordid deals and most refugees in detention centres have no chance to be settled in Australia. Australia has a partial refugee ban and any boat refugees will not be settled in the country no matter what. Probably Obama was conned into signing the deal with Abbott to transfer 1,200 refugees from Australia or it was part of legacy-making efforts along with the historic visit to Hiroshima as a Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Actually it was an agreement arrived at between a sitting president and Australia's PM. Like I said, Trump can, and perhaps will, renege on the agreement...or he can honor the agreement made with an ally, a most important Pacific ally. His choice........

Lucky for you then, he's not gonna buck around on the ground kicking and screaming because Trump doesn't want to swap illegals with him, and at the end of the day we'll still be allies, and you can sleep soundly at night and feel blessed that two mature adults handled the situation.

Australia: Hey mate how 'bout we trade ya a thousand of our Muslim terrorists for a few South American kids waiting for adoption?

Obama: That sounds wonderful but we have to do it quick I don't have much time left.

So you think we are no longer allies thanks to Trump ? No one can offer an alliance like the US can. So who is going to turn against us ?

We may not be - when the South China Sea crisis hits - we may yet swap sides because China is out biggest trading ally

    - - - Updated - - -

China can and it might be in Australia's best interest since the USA will go to war with China
