    Slippery,

The major concern from the report was the "length of time children spent in detention", NOT how many were in detention at a given time. So not quite sure what you are meaning about the timing. Pre 2013 election there were more children in detention but they were being released much sooner. Post 2013, children were spending substantially more time in detention despite there being less in detention, which from report findings are causing concerning mental health related issues.

Don't overlook the fact that the report was critical of both governments pre and post 2013.

Not too many people are wanting a coffee with Abbott at the moment. Sadly slippery, the hard right of the liberal party are destroying them. They are too extreme for the Australian people and despite hood winking people over the asylum seeker issue, people will no doubt see this child issue in detention as abhorrent and way too far in the nasty column of conservative policy.

I love these Australian and NZ threads because its fun to listen to the accents in my head when I read them. :clapping:

I only have one criticism so far and that there are WAAAAY to few mates, barbies and kiwi references so far. Could future posters please make some effort at writing more Australian please so it sounds more authentic. Thanks in advance. Off to the UK section to read some cockney.

Yes the report is and was critical. So why was the initial release date scrapped ? It was then extended to be released now?

I am not arguing with what was in the report, I question Triggs political motives. It would of been a bullet to gaillards head had it been released before the last election. Heads of departments will have differing political leanings but they must put them aside and act without bias, something it seems Triggs failed to do.

Got to go. Calling my flight now. All the best tragics.

Fill us in on the Political move!

What is the timeline for the inquiry?

This inquiry will be conducted during 2014. The inquiry report, findings and recommendations will be provided to the Australian Government before the end of 2014.

Once the Libs turned the tide from the ALP and children numbers started to drop, it meant the ones that remain were probably the more difficult cases being less able to be processed as quick as the easier cases. The report just focused on the shortcomings during a small window and ignored the larger disaster which was the ALP's mismanagement, or like you desire not to manage, the problem. If you stick your head in the sand like the ALP did over this, then you get done up the scooter.

As in true do-gooder style, T.V has now turned his/her attack from the "amount" of children in detention to the "amount of time" children spent in detention. You simply cannot win with a tool like this. :roflol:

Soon this clown will reduce to debate over them not having enough toilet paper, and you keep wasting your time :roflol: Do-gooders can twist and squirm better than any politician or snake I have ever seen.

Hello, we have a gunslinging little forum hero on our hands. Wake up buddy. I would love to say other things on here about what I thought about you but I would be stating the obvious and for the sake of focussing on the topic and being able to provide light on propaganda I acquiesce to a degree.

So, the report focused on mental health issues of children spending excessive time in detention. Totally legitimate concern for the big people who look beyond superficiality.

So this statement makes sense to you does it? I think I would find it rather identify the dietary source of particular human excrement than trying to understand this statement. This small window is simply the time tones has been in charge, which in effect makes the issue extremely concerning as a human rights issue.

The 'excrement' you speak must be in your head then, and of course the Lib's policy would only have impact once it was in place. Your missing the point, seemingly because you strictly adhere to the left propoganda view and can't even imagine the other view. Free your mind, see both sides of the story and try coming to your own conclusion. You'll find it more often then not matches or closely matches the 'right' view.

Lmao....they left the difficult ones till last :roflol:! Absolutely absurd. I can't take you serious little boy! The only point I'm missing is the absurd ones you continue to make. If you are legitimately special in any way I apologise.

Once these do-gooders are in crusading, Its like talking to a brick wall with one exception. An inanimate brick wall would have more intellect. :roflol: :roflol:

You must have a lot of spare time to waste - I envy you.
