Funny thing...all of the counties but 2 with the largest % Black population lost their center for getting the required ID. And this happened right after the law requiring the ID went into effect.

 

All but two of the counties with predominantly Black populations lost their office.

Tell me, do you think personally we would be better off if they had repatriated the African Americans that hated America? The Al Sharptons, the Louis Farrakhans? I think that was Lincolns concern early on. There had been slave revolts that concerned a lot of the populace. However, I disagree that Lincoln planned to try and "colonize" by force the entire black population of America. That is what the revisionists want us to believe. There is no evidence of that. It might have been a voluntary thing for those that wanted to leave and I am sure there were some.

I know a lot of slaves were deeply resentful of what happened to them. In reality? For an awful lot of them that's all they ever knew. Freedom was going to be a big challenge and they knew it. Some wanted to experience their freedom and look for opportunity because they had masters they respected or admired. Like all people, some just remained bitter as they do generations later. You can't make a cookie cutter for all people. Just because you share skin colors doesn't give you a patent.

The Colonization plan, endorsed early on by Jefferson and Madison, was always Voluntary.

Very often, Lost Causers present an image of the Colonization plan (which was borne of the abolitionists) -- as one of a forced deportation. Not true.

It would have been voluntary.

James Madison was a member of the American Colonization Society, as well as Thomas Jefferson. Lincoln was not in bad company.

It was an idea that was embraced by numerous abolitionists.

When Lost Causers tell the story though, they forget to mention the plan was one that was voluntary.

To hear them say it, they have Lincoln forceably shipping em off, en mass.

 

Considering the hundred years of rights denied to blacks after the Civil War, Lincoln was right when he said this in his Address on Colonization to a Committee of Colored Men, Washington, D.C.
August, 14, 1862:


"Your race are suffering, in my judgment, the greatest wrong inflicted on any people.

But even when you cease to be slaves, you are yet far removed from being placed on an equality with the white race.

You are cut off from many of the advantages which the other race enjoy.

The aspiration of men is to enjoy equality with the best, when free; but on this broad continent not a single man of your race is made the equal of a single man of ours. Go where you are treated the best, and the ban is still upon you."

The reason I said that is because a lot of people, today, seem to judge people from other eras by today's standards. Because of that, Lincoln was highly racist. As the descendant of a Confederate soldier, I'll never sympathize with Lincoln.

 

I don't know if they is or isn't. All I know is that democrats reach out to their main voting bloc with those programs.
