You know...there are thousands of people dying all over the world from all sorts of things one could call man-made. People dying is definitely a tragedy. But, really? 4 People die from working in a place one could say is clearly marked as "hostile" and this is supposed to be some huge blunder on the part of the government- regardless what party was in power at the time?

9/11 was a tragedy. This is war. You are in a country where you had the political leader and his followers removed forcefully from power. You go there, you understand the risks and 4 people who remain in the embassy at such a time a pretty much daring attack on themselves.

It is a tragedy, however. And instead of everyone expressing uniform grief and at least taking the time to offer a sincere and proper public mourning of such individuals, the issue is quickly crafted into a spear and hurled at the heart of every American in an attempt to color democrats as the sole people responsible.

The same people who are going to blame a single party for Benghazi should then man up and blame a single party for 9/11.

    You know the real tragedy

The creation of an alien state of Israeli terrorists in the middle east

One of the biggest disasters of the 20th century

If it were not for that catastrophe we would not be seeing most of what is happening and many lives would have been saved

I would not say "big deal" as I do not want to see anyone jeopardized in any way.

What does bother me is how the right wingers have attempted to capitalize on this "scandal" when their own party ignored security warnings in the past such as these:

Many more people died in these incidents but the Republicans ignored it and Democrats had too much class to attempt to capitalize on them.

Even right winger Geraldo Rivera has said the right wing has gone too far with these lies and their hate:

There is a huge problem with Benghazi. We knew it was coming and apparently sacrificed American lives for political means.

....a story was concocted and incessently hammered-- as a cover up. Which means that the people involved darn well knew they went over the line.

Americans on the scene that could have helped---were apparently TOLD to not help. But they tried anyway and died because they weren't given back up.

You people that think it was nothing----are ignorant. You know nothing. And that is how this admin wants to keep it until at least after the election.

Knock it off Margot. Where am I wrong? Do you turn away from the hearings with your hands over your ears? Just so you can scream Horse Manure?

I'm not even sure why you posted. You've said nothing.

Right.. Blue Mountain Security chief was "panicked" 3 hours before the attack and did nothing.

Gibberish? Make sense Margot. Tell us what you know in a less fearful cryptic verbage. Say something here.

Do I think we knew it was coming...yes. What I don't know was if it was allowed, whether negligence aided the situation, or, to be a conspiracist, it was set-up or willingly aided, but I do not believe that it was merely one party's problem. It's the whole of government.

The sad thing is that no real investigation is going on here. Republicans aren't investigating democrats because both had a part in the event.

Again, I don't know what happened, but my guess is that it's probably the fault of the entire government

And still...the rather suspicious circumstance in which American's are killed by foreigners in a way that seems to say there really should have been no way this could be pulled off...seems to reoccur. If you're angling at this as being a small version of 9/11 to inspire that patriot-rage that keeps a war going, it wouldn't surprise me.

Blue Mountain Security is responsible for the consulate compound perimeter.. The chief of the force made some phone calls but did nothing else.

In fact the housing compound entrance was guarded by just a few locals and an old lady who cooked their food.

They sat in a little office just behind that trimmed tree at the entrance

If you are thinking it is guarded by marines with missiles you are confusing it with the one in Cairo
