I assume this is about Moscow Rose?? Why would Democrats defend her?? Hillary was 100% right, only she was out there (near) first with the news, so it was sort of a surprise..

There is proof he called McCain a loser, saying he preferred soldiers who don't get captured. His distaste of the military is not a secret. Remember he wanted them to throw parade in HIS honor? Who does that?

The Atlantic has something called sources... that they desire to remain anonymous, though cowardly, doesn't change that...

If ANYTHING in that article was untrue, does anybody think President Snowflake wouldn't have sued?? He's been known to do that from time to time. Hell, I don't even recall him making any case that any of that was untrue. There is a "denial" email from somebody who quit the administration during the evolution of the Big Lie and who has voluntarily testified to the 1/6 committee.

Although I'm sure the committee could care less about T****'s known disgust for most of the military (and vice versa)

Probably not, because as I'm sure your detailed review of the mandate of this board has shown you, they won't be interested in articles coming from The Atlantic**

They really should have named this new board the "CRT Governance Board", then watch to see which winger could defend it the fastest, even though the mandate was the same..

** - Unless said articles deal with "disinformation coming from Russia as well as misleading information that human smugglers circulate to target migrants hoping to travel to the U.S.-Mexico border."

They were lies. You cannot run a story quoting the president of the USA saying something like that 2 months from an election with no named sources.

They have Trump saying something moronic and controversial. Also the person who owns the Atlantic is a billionaire left winger who hates Trump.

In short that was a blatant lie fabricated to help Joe Biden in the election. Mega rich people using their money and power to help democrats does not bother you but that is anti democracy. The power of the few who mainly supported Biden. Like Zuckerberg spending $400M to help senile Joe. So much for the working man.

Also in that same Atlantic story(All opinion and lies) the author a pro Iraq war neocon makes a big issue out of Trump deferment in Vietnam but of course no mention of Biden's deferment for childhood asthma.

Misinformation is not the word. They printed a lie to help a candidate win.

So you support unsourced lies to affect an election? From mega rich elites? That is democracy to you?

If Trump thought that there should be plenty of quotes from him.

All they had to do in this information age of yours was produce a witness who heard him say that then we can determine if that witness is credible. Better yet show us the video or produce the audio of him saying that.

Pretty obvious you are anti Trump supporter of misinformation.

Sure you can.... if you convince your editors and ownership you are on firm legal ground with your sourcing, which according to that article, is T**** "aides" in several circumstances...

Such loyalty is hard to envision, isn't it....

Biden told dozens of lies about his involvement in the civil rights movement.

People on the left said that!

He was best friends with KKK Robert Byrd and other segregationists. Kamala Harris called him a racist on the issue of busing.

So because of his past and these lies I should believe in an unsourced story from the National enquirer that accused him of using the N word multiple times?

Legal ground? Trump is not going to sue them. How do you prove you did not say something?

They have no integrity! They made up the story out of thin air. They lied! Stop pretending they did not.

Hunter Biden's laptop. When Republicans take the House back in November we shall see just how fair the elections were in 2020.

Combined with what's in the public domain on the topic, most people believe those statements are completely in his wheelhouse..

Because I saw him say he doesn’t like McCain because he was a POW? Dude, I saw it with my own eyes and heard it with my own ears.

Wow he did not like McCain so that means he hates all military people. Really? Unlike that great military hero Joe Biden.

What Trump said about McCain was moronic and idiotic. We have him on video saying those things so he deserves the criticism. Not for some made up trash.

He literally said he liked soldiers who don’t get captured. I don’t know how much more disrespectful of a war hero someone can be.

Sounds like something straight out of the Soviet Union circa 1985. And, natch, our own lefties love it.

Maybe IF you know so much about what they are going to do and how it will just be speech maybe you should also site your source. Or you can keep rambling on in stars I’m okay with that as well. It only make me look like the sane one.

So what do they plan on doing about said misinformation they find? Label it by forcing a private company to label it as misinformation? Putting a Star on their post? Smacking fines? If it’s so innocent and just their speech maybe you can source where they say it will just be speech.

    Or maybe you can’t.

Well I don't recall @Starcastle claiming this was the next Holocaust although assuming he did, no. This isn't the Holocaust. Of course nothing is except for the Holocaust. But keeping on that theme, you don't believe anyone's rights have been violated yet ("Unless there is some reason to ACTUALLY think that anyone's rights are violated"), which I suppose is true. The Board is just being stood up and hasn't actually done anything yet, although as I've already mentioned in this thread, the administration is already directing social media "in choosing what content to suppress, amplify, or remove." Now you may, in fact (and it seems you are), be perfectly OK with that.

But if the Government set up a "Jew Eradication Board" and appointed as it's head a noted anti-Semite, it seems you would argue that no ones rights have been eliminated, since they have not yet eradicated any Jews. I on the other hand would find the concept abhorrent, even if they had not yet done anything but produce weird Tik Tok videos.

But, as usual in these discussions with you, I've given you a thoughtful, considerate answer, and you totally ignored my entire post, so let's try this again:

Is the Disinformation Governance Board a "government health org" like you claimed?

Do you think Libertarians would support this Board? Are you a Libertarian are just a knee jerk Democrat?

Since you claimed I mentioned the First Amendment in this thread, please explain how I related it to this Board?

Since you claimed that this Board is not going to "dictate to private companies what is truth and what isn't," how do you know that? Would it be OK to you if they did?

Since you claimed Trump (because he's always part of any thread) tried "to end the 1st Amendment," how exactly did he try to do that?

Please explain your position on the Disinformation Governance Board. Is it a good thing and do you support it? (we've established you don't think it's the Holocaust)

When the government sets up something like this, it reeks of censorship. It reminds me of John Adams and his aliens and sedition acts. If not immediately, what this board of disinformation will do is sanctions the party in charge political propaganda as the truth and the party out of power political propaganda as misinformation or false. This board certainly isn’t about protecting a citizen’s free speech, political speech, privacy, civil rights and liberty. It is exactly the opposite. It's all about controlling political opposition thought, speech etc.

This board of misinformation is more of a danger to our democracy than 1-6 attempt to overthrow an election. 1-6 pales to this. Do we really want our government declaring what is true and what is false which will lead to government forced shutdown of opposing political ideas and expression?

If the Democrats go through with this, they better hope they remain in power for eternity. The other party if it gains power and control over this board, certainly will mark anything said by Democrats as misinformation, lies, untruths and soon may even prohibit them from speaking or expressing their political ideas, agenda and thoughts.

Very bad idea. This board should scare the Hades out of every American. If it doesn’t, it show those who are in favor as only wanting their political propaganda heard, no one elses.
