This makes no sense at all, IMO. I don't trust the establishment media or background info on this. There HAS to be something else at the root of it.
I agree that there SHOULD be one standard but let's face it, HRC, Comey, Clapper, Stzrok, and several others were caught cold with documentary evidence of wrongdoing, and not ONE of them was even indicted. The double standard is so glaring that it'd be Orwellian to deny it. So WHY would the Potato-in-Chief drop the hammer like this on junior staffers? The only thing that comes to mind is that they want to give an appearance of justice as they begin coming after Trump and even Roger Stone, again... They are well and truly behaving like psychopaths where the BOM is concerned.
Do you actually believe that most marijuana smokers are going to limit themselves to a couple of joints after work on Friday? If you believe that then I've got some ocean front property in Montana to sell you...
Cracks me up how, after years of conservatives starting threads with very dubious sources (and I'm being kind there), you lead off with a source defense in what is clearly a factual matter.... I bet even Fox eventually lurched into this news story... BTW, how many pot firing threads are out here?? It's DEVESTATING... It's my Biden Bad #3 of 2021.... 200 more Bads and ..... who am I kidding?....I'll still be voting D in 2024, but I assume it will be for Kamala, not Joe..... Damn, things must be going well if this issue is plastered to the first page of the forum....
A couple joints is way too much for one person. Growers are producing very strong weed. Up to 30% THC. A couple hits is all most people want.
Based on my many years of experience, yes. There are always that one guy but you can pick him out pretty fast if you have any intelligence at all. Personally, I don't like the stuff. It makes me sleepy. My wife is one of those that has severe back pain and used to smoke after work. When her employer started drug testing, she had to stop and now is on a ton of medication that is "approved". One to relive pain, another to fix the side affects of the first, another to fix the side affects of the 2nd, etc. It boggles my mind that opioids are acceptable and pot isn't.
I could not agree more. It is bad enough that booze if fine and pot is not, but the fact people are fine with you taking opioids but not pot is beyond imagination
To be honest, I have had extensive experience with all the above and MANY more.. As for pain, I have never had THC alleviate pain like opioids do.. Granted opioids have their harmful side the top problem is addiction, but many studies and doctors claim that people that take opioids for HONEST pain management seldom become addicted on the other hand people that abuse opioids for the euphoric effect will be more susceptible to addiction.. Both have been around for centuries and if one was as good as the other for pain management with less side effect of addiction it would have been used at least a century ago and more resent.. Does THC block pain receptors. Don't get me wrong, a few dab of wax is a wonderful alternative to alcohol, but for pain, I'll take oxy ever time.. And maybe a dab of indica too
I had to get one every year, before I retired last year, to get my badge access at a huge steel mill. For like ten plus years every year. Then the last time I was renewing and I went by security to give her my paperwork, safety test certification included, the guard looked at my badge, a vendor badge, and said "you don't need the drug test to renew that is just for contractor badges"...................... Told her they cost me $50 every year, she nope not required for your badge. I think more and more companies are dropping the marijuana screen now but yes there will be some such as you mentioned that will still require them.
Does that mean Kamala Harris is getting fired too? https://www.cnn.com/2019/02/11/politics/kamala-harris-marijuana-legalization/index.html Why the double standard? Honestly, it should be legal and treated like Alcohol. Also, if any of those fired are from states where it is legal... that seems pretty messed up.
It depends but for many apparently so and not addictive. The Use of Medical Marijuana for Pain in Canada Medical marijuana (cannabis) is gaining wide acceptance as an effective pain control remedy by physicians in both Canada and in the United States. By Gordon D. Ko, MD, FRCPC, Bryan Hendin, Sean Mindra, MD and Stanley Jung, DC ... Support for Medical Cannabis There appears to be a surge in evidence supporting the medicinal use of cannabis, in part due to patients reporting significant pain relief and reduction in the use of other medications, including opioids. In a large survey of medical cannabis users in Arizona with chronic pain, 77% of fibromyalgia patients, 63% of patients with arthritis, and 51% of patients suffering from neuropathic pain reported experiencing “a lot” or “almost complete overall relief” of their painful condition.8 These were subjective measures (no numeric or visual-analogue rating scales were applied before or after used). Reduced usage of other medications, as described as “a little or much less frequency,” was found in 94% of patients with fibromyalgia, 81% of arthritic patients, and 61% of patients with neuropathy who used medical cannabis. Moreover, 75% of medical cannabis users who experienced opioid dependency reported a lot or almost complete overall relief.8 These findings highlight the wide range of clinical uses for medical cannabis, as well as the value of such studies at a time where evidence from controlled clinical trials is still emerging... https://www.practicalpainmanagement...non-opioids/use-medical-marijuana-pain-canada
Like I said in the other thread about this, I am NOT for legalizing pot (even though my kid has a card due to a neurological problem and it helps) but I'm in the minority, a lot of people smoke and don't have problems and it's legal in a lot of places. So in my world I won't smoke pot, stoners, feel free to light up. Anyway, here's my opinion on this: Biden wants to dump some people and wants to do it in a way the people being dumped don't know the real reason they're being dumped and they smoked pot in the past. It's lame, it's stupid, it's Biden. Meanwhile Biden's kid just sits back and says these people are now qualified to be a director in an international energy company.
For those comparing marijuana to alcohol and opioids, you can't use those and work for heavy industry either. Any job that requires you to be in charge of public safety, or driving or operating heavy machinery or trucks, you cannot drink on the job (obviously), use marijuana, opioids, or any type of pain killers. This applies to any job driving a bus, truck, trains, or aircraft. Even aside from all that, even if marijuana were to be legalized on the federal level, your employer can do whatever they want. If they don't want you to smoke or drink, then I guess you won't be smoking or drinking if you want to keep your job. And that doesn't just apply to marijuana. For example, even in states like Oklahoma where both concealed and open carry are perfectly legal, there are several businesses where you can't have a firearm at work. You aren't even allowed to have it in your personal vehicle if it's on company property. People that are wanting it to be legalized act like it's going to be pot smoker's heaven and a free-for-all, but it's not. Even if it were legalized federally, there are at least a hundred situations I can think of where you still won't be able to use it.
I don't think anyone is arguing that using any drug like that on the job is bad news. The argument is whether it's fair to say that you are a threat when you have THC in your system but are not high. (or in Biden's case, do not even have THC in your system but once did).
All I can say is those staffers shouldn't have admitted to anything. Even if it they used it years ago, it's still illegal federally, and they work for the federal government. Not smart to admit that...
That doesn't really matter any more does it? After the whole border thing going on right now, why would a small thing like "illegal" matter?
As far as how much THC or alcohol you have in your system, it doesn't matter. If you work in public safety, heavy industry, trucking, shipping, aircraft, trains, or any number of related jobs, if there is an accident at work and either you get hurt, or you hurt someone or there is property damage, and they test you, if there is ANY amount of alcohol or THC in your system you are toast. And if there was a death or serious injury involved, your company will probably get sued for millions. It's a liability issue, plain and simple.
While true, it's also a cop out. It's an easy way to put blame somewhere. I know that's the way it is but it's not the way it should be. If there is a death and you drank a beer 2 weeks ago, they shouldn't be able to put the blame on you being drunk. Same goes for pot except they don't have a test for that yet so they just choose to use the easy way out.
I get it, but as a long time advocate for legalization and known to be honest and blunt(Pun). The real medicinal aspects of Cannabis is the CBD, by far! THC does provide some relief but far less then CBD does.. A lot of the hype come/came from a purposely illusive campaign to win the psychoactive and recreational use legalization battles via Medicinal and the magic cure.. Once they had their footholds from pushing the medicinal it was finally easy to make the small transition to recreational.. Fact remains the nonpsychoactive CBD element is the the real medical part of cannabis and the THC has very little to do with it.. But in the long run medicinal is hardly the biggest factor for it's use today and getting baked is Note, 90% of the medicinal nonpsychoactive CBD can easily be harvested without those nasty side effects of THC, but who would really buy it then
It's medically legal in Oklahoma, but it might as well be recreational. You can go to any doctor and tell them you have a headache and they will give you a card. Then people started whining about how much the card costs and the taxes on the pot and we tell them "Hey, that's how you sold it to us to vote on. Just think of all the taxes and revenue it will bring in." And then when they have to pay said taxes on the pot, they cry about it....
