That look's right, but I think it is quite likely that Trump will lose the popular vote by 5 million votes, but who can say for sure he won't win in the electoral college. It's an obsolete system.
The 2016 election was an example of the EC working exactly as intended. Hillary won one election by 4 million votes; she lost the remaining 50 by an aggregate of 1 million votes.
CNN just deleted their poll that shows Trump winning in the battle ground states lol. Fox, and the AP still have it published.
I agree. And if I were a Republican, I'd be forced to vote 3rd party for the same reason. So let's go third party!
This will be a weird election. All the celebrities that spoke out about Justice Cav will not publicly support Biden. They'll still vote for him, sure. But the overwhelming Biden support on social media is nowhere near what Hillary had leading up to the election. This will be an "underground vote". People will be keeping their votes to themselves more than before. Will feminists openly support Biden after what he's accused of? Will the victims that the MeToo movement speak for, openly support him, or Trump? This will be a very odd year.
I may feel differently if I were in a swing state. Maybe. Probably not, though. I've always been more idealistic than practical. Most Biden votes will be anti-Trump votes moreso than pro-Biden votes and most Trump votes will be own-the-libs votes moreso than pro-Trump votes. It'll be similar to the last election, but with everything cranked up to 11.
Interestingly, you cite polls showing the projected popular vote. And even if what happens in November is just about identical to the polls in May--which is doubtful--I am trying to understand your (apparent) view that the popular vote will surely act as a proxy for the electoral vote. Two of the latest five presidents--and two of the latest three, among Republicans--have gained a smaller share of the popular vote than their opponents. So I really would be far more impressed if you were to show a projection of the comparative electoral vote. (Note: Larry Sabato--a political analyst who leans center-left--did exactly this a few months ago. He showed the electoral vote--including those just leaning a bit--exactly tied, 247 to 247, with the remainder tossups.) He has since updated that, to a slight lead for the then-unnamed Democratic candidate. Anyway, this is what really matters.
In other news, the latest tallies in the Poll on Top: Trump 72.6% Biden 27.4% As Usual: Definitely a Perfect Snapshot of the Current Ideological Representation of PF's Membership. Still it is good to see the number dip below 75%. Considering that Trump's Current Approval is somewhere in the Mid-40s: I think it is safe to say that Trump Supporters are Exponentially Overrepresented at PF. A phenomenon that is the case on most Social Media Sites. I wonder if PF will ever "balance out"?
Yeah, but it will be worse problem if this happening remotely, over VC. That's my instinct, anyway. I think there will be more moderator interruptions, for better or worse, if this happens over VC.
I don't watch the debates nowadays. They are completely useless. It's where politicians lie the most. About themselves and about the opponent. Much worse than political ads. Debates are where all the lies come out. I look at a few things. Consistency, willingness to push through Congress' agenda(s), and not taking crap from other countries- specifically China. Their tech-war strategy started in 2014 and hasn't ended. We can't bow to that.
I can see that for China's abuses of intellectual property. That's one of the few exceptions I make for my free trade principles: I'm okay with tariffs to curb those abuses, even if it involves losses in the short run. At this point, however, Congress has already ceded a good bit of their Constitutional powers to the President, so I'm always looking for candidates willing to respect their Constitutional limitations. Trump definitely isn't willing to do so. I haven't looked much into Biden, but I doubt he is either. Honestly, maybe it doesn't even matter. Obama was the last major party candidate that I saw even pay lip service to his limitations of power, and he massively failed to follow through.
My, aren't you embarrassed. That conspiracy stupidity died with a whimper, after the Republican senate said it was even too stupid for them to act on. And that's saying something. If even the Republican senate rejects a conspiracy theory, it must be insanely stupid. Yet you fell for it. Sucks to be you. Even the Republican senate is part of the DeepState now. What are you going to do? After all, the whole planet is conspiring against you. Don't worry too much. Knowing that Trump cultists have a short attention span, your masters make up a new lunatic conspiracy theory each day, so just run along and find out what it is, and then parrot it back to us.
In my mind there is no choice unless you are like some of my right wing friends who are looking forward to voting for the worst president in U.S. history for a second time. Now that's something to tell your grandchildren.
Again, I'm not in a swing state. My vote, ultimately, doesn't matter. I can only vote my conscience, and I don't want for either accused rapist. I couldn't tell my grandchildren, without embarrassment, that I voted for either of these men. And a simple forum search will show you that I haven't exactly been Trump's biggest fan. So that excuse won't work on me.
That is an interesting thought. The entire debate vibe will be completely killed if it is done by VC. That seems like a non-starter. But, who really knows?
lol Someone actually typed that nonsense out. Hillary, is that you? For the record, I did not commit suicide. lol
Looks like Biden can't even win when foreign lefties are able to vote. Maybe you guys should be worried more about that and less about playing gotcha with other posters. Democrats deserve Biden.
