If he were then he'd be listening to the CDC and telling teachers to go back to work, he's putting the teachers unions ahead of the scientists.

What federal building or any government building had not been requiring them before?

We've been doing all of this, in my state mask have been required everywhere since last summer, Biden is not starting mask wearing. And correct he has no authority to pass such a mandate on the citizens unless they are on federal property anyway.

Once you read his "plan" which he and his spokespeople are saying we have to wait until the CDC releases it's guidelines and in particular the Director reverse her position on schools?

But just reading the introductory letter and this

"For the past year, we could not turn to the federal government for a national plan to answer prayers with action — until today."

I can tell it is not worth the taxpayer funded paper it is printed on.

"Our national strategy will be driven by scientists and public health experts"
No it's not it is driven by unions and democrat voting blocks.

    1. Restore trust with the American people.

That's his FIRST goal? The only persons who have sowed mistrust is he and his fellow Democrats. There has been AMPLE information we are not lacking in information about COVID.

    2. Mount a safe, effective, and comprehensive vaccination campaign.

"Mount"? He was given one and it continues to expand as the vaccine is available, and good news today they are going to be able to cut production times in half. What we better hope for is he not screw the pooch trying to change something just so he can claim he did something and SAVED the country.

3.Mitigate spread through expanding masking, testing, data, treatments, health care workforce, and clear public health standards.

Mask are EVERYWHERE, we test like crazy but vaccination is more important, we have the vaccines and remarkable therapeutics NOW and those are expanding and coming to market without him doing anything, we have public standards and local officials are best able to out those together than Biden in the White House with staff.

    4. Immediately expand emergency relief and exercise the Defense Production Act.5.Safely reopen schools, businesses, and travel while protecting workers.

The DPA has been enacted for months but he stupidly declares he can order it for vaccine production. These vaccines are VERY difficult to produce they are bio medicines. You don't mix so chemicals together in a big vat and little pills come out the end. The laboratories that do produce them are HIGHLY specialized and the people HIGHLY trained. Expansions are already underway and as noted one company has announced they have been able to increase their efficeny that they will be able to cut production time in half and did so without Biden telling them to do so.

5.Safely reopen schools, businesses, and travel while protecting workers.
As long as the unions oppose opening schools he will and if state and local governments that closed business, they need to reopen and only they can do so. And as noted we are at 6.3% unemployment which was quickly heading back to full employment without Biden doing anything. And that is without even touching on the fact he is doing just the opposite by trying to close down our energy production which will cost jobs, raise the price of oil (it already has started a steep rise) making us once again dependent of foreign sources, raising direct business cost with his $15 across the country minimum wage and other regulations he wants to put back in place.

    7. Restore U.S. leadership globally and build better preparedness for future threats.

And more of this vague nonsense. Hey Biden was in the White House for 8 years and they had a pandemic then. How did he do with US leadership and building better preparedness?

And today he is blaming Trump for not ordering enough.

    • The Biden administration purchased another 100 million COVID-19 vaccine doses each from Pfizer and Moderna on Thursday.
    • That represents a 50% increase in the US's available vaccine supply, bringing the total to 600 million doses.
    • Biden said his predecessor, former president Donald Trump, "didn't order enough vaccines" while in office.
    https://www.businessinsider.com/bid...ore-pfizer-moderna-covid-vaccine-doses-2021-2

Trump ordered 180 million JUST from Pfizer

    Yesterday

    At least
    35.4 million
people have received one or both doses of the vaccine in the U.S.

This includes more than 11.7 million people who have been fully vaccinated.
68.3 million doses have been distributed.

We have only received just a little over a third of the first order with Pfizer. What is increasing the number on the purchase order going to do NOW. Now about we get through about 2/3's of the first one and then review usage and effectiveness of each vaccine and with that knowledge place another order. Biden is trying to blame Trump for the distribution issues because he didn't order enough, that's nonsense who on his staff came up with that one?

I guess that approach could explain things like the UV light, disinfectant gaffs.

    From your link:
The new supply won't be delivered until the end of July, meaning it will help prevent vaccine shortages down the road but won't accelerate the pace of vaccinations.

    Well sons a guns.
Now they are saying they may have enough vaccine to do everyone by the end of June.
Now I understand why Biden plans to use up to 20,000 military to support the program.
Don't you love it when a plan comes together?

Yes Pfizer had been working on a process which cut production time in half and they succeed and as I noted we have LOTS of vaccine on order already there is no need to order another 100 million and it is certainly not "fixing" something that wasn't broken, once again Biden's false bravado. Military has already been supporting which General requested more troops? Has any governor requested more help from the military? A Google search shows the only request were back in late summer early fall, a few governors who wanted the troops that Trump had sent be extended some more time but nothing since then.

Trump in total ordered 300 million doses. 100 million as late as December.
This would have resulted in 230 million doses available by the end of June. Or enough for 115 million people.
As we go to bed tonight Biden has commitments for 600 million by the end of June.
    You go Joe.
    1,000 troops to CA.
More to come as increase vaccine availability comes on line.

What if there was no hope of a vaccine after a year? Would Trump still be setting a bad example?

And we have plenty on order and increasing the number on the purchase order will do nothing to increase distribution and into the arm.
Increasing the number on the PO does not magically make them more available PERIOD. It's an empty gesture and what Trump ordered and we haven't even used half of it was just a start it wasn't a one time order. And production time frames were already being cut in half. This is not some "LOOK AT ME I FIXED IT" as Biden is desperate to claim.

Which state is clamoring for more military to come and dispense vaccines, as I noted previously the last request concerning federal troops were back in late summer and early fall and it wasn't for more but to EXTEND some troops in some states which Trump had sent.

Biden is desperate to find SOMETHING.............ANYTHING he can claim "I FIXED IT" and it is laughable and insulting to the citizens at the same time.

BTW my state moved to 1b this week. I didn't go to the local drive through because I didn't want to have to wait in a line so I went to the Walmart website and scheduled mine for Monday at 2:40 PM. And there are some reports that my state is the WORST in the country and getting vaccines out!!

What's the matter with the vaccine? If you get the vaccine it's better for the others that you keep on wearing a mask ... you won't get Covid, but you could anyway transmit a residual viral load of SARS-Cov-2.

Can you support this claim that vaccinated people can still transmit the virus?

I've found some articles which explains the matter in a simple way.

    https://www.vox.com/22241572/covid-19-vaccine-mask-moderna-pfizer-johnson
    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-55784199
    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/news...-can-vaccinated-people-still-spread-the-virus
    https://www.technologyreview.com/20...ccine-asymptomatic-transmission-pfizer-trial/

In a few words, the vaccines slow down the transmission for sure and in a relevant way, anyway scientists are not excluding the possibility of a residual transmission.
This means that before we will reach the herd immunity, it's better to keep on wearing masks and to keep on following all the behavioral rules which we are following now.

If you don't order them you can be sure the vaccine fairy won't do it for you.
    Well, lookie here:

The deal increases the available supply by 50%, bringing the total number of doses to 600 million by the end of July — enough for 300 million people, as each vaccine requires two doses. Additional vaccine supply is expected to come from Johnson & Johnson, which submitted its application to regulators for a single-dose vaccine last week.

Biden emphasized that the Trump administration did little to get ready for the mass challenge of vaccinating hundreds of millions of Americans, leaving his administration to start from scratch.

“It was a big mess, it’s going to take time to fix,” Biden said. “We still have a long way to go.”

Along with the 200 million additional vaccines, Biden said there will be an expedited delivery of 100 million doses by the end of May, which were originally promised by the end of June.

Overwhelmed, More States Turn to National Guard for Vaccine Help
At least 16 states and territories are using the National Guard to give shots, drawing on doctors, nurses, medics and other troops who are skilled in administering injections.

Ordering more will NOT speed up delivery, it does not make a single additional does more available. The companies themselves have speeded up the process and why does will be available sooner. It is NOT a big mess Biden once again lies in order that he can take credit. Watched a report to day that 60%+ students are ALREADY getting in class teaching Bidens goal would set that BACK.

You give no date nor what states. But beyond that that goes back to the Trump team which first proposed and even dispatched. More Biden trying to claim credit for SAVING THE DAY!!!! Maybe if Biden and the Dems would send home the troops in DC there would be more available.

AGAIN: BTW my state moved to 1b this week. And I had also filled out an online form last week at a local hospital, I got an email Saturday night that I could schedule there for this week but don't need as I am leaving in about an hour to go get mine.

Gezz. I bold it and underline it and you skip right over it. :)

Biden is going to use the military. Thousands of them.

Biden Calls in Active-Duty Troops for COVID-19 Vaccination Effort
On Friday, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin approved a request to deploy 1,110 troops across the country to help combat the deadly disease with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). There will be a total of five teams, each comprising 222 personnel, including nurses, vaccinators and clinical staff.

The move marks a significant change from the Trump Administration, which was reluctant to use the armed forces in vaccine delivery and administration, opting instead to rely on private industry. The slow pace of vaccinations, though, prompted Biden to arrange a more muscular federal response, ordering FEMA and the Pentagon to team up and establish 100 mass vaccination centers within a month.

So you're only about 10 days behind my red state.
I got mine on the 6th.

I got mine a month ago at a local pharmacy in a red state what took you so long. I haven't seen one damn thing Biden has done to speed anything us. When Polesi finally let the relief bill go through it allocated more money period. The distribution plan was impressive we gave 25m doses by Jan 14th, and 29m in the past 30 days. The system was set up, it was on the website, the military was used for logistics, now some are being used for arm sticks, although I haven't seen any. Alot of states screwed up because they wanted their health depts getting the cash for the vaccination. My state allowed pharmacies and hospitals which greatly sped up delivery....

I got mine at Walmart yesterday. I'm a 1b and that opened up in my county last Monday. I didn't want to go down the next day to a drive through because I knew it would be a line and BMW has a clutch :rock_slayer:. I signed up at the local university hospital and was waiting for an appointment. Friday was announced Walmart would begin immediately to give them by appointment. Went there and and got an immediate appointment for Monday. Sunday got an email the university could schedule me for next week but of course did not need. My appointment was for 2:40 got there a little before and by the time I filled out paper work did the screening got the shot waited the 15 minutes was out in 58 minutes and got some shopping done during the wait period.

BTW as I drove there I drove past the civic center where they had a drive through and there was no line to speak of.

None of them have NG troops there they are not needed.

The distribution plan worked like we wanted it was the restrictions and the actual delivery points in the start up but I think there is plenty out there now and people all over FB saying they had gotten already or are scheduled.

As I noted earlier I did a google search and the latest stories I found were from last summer and early fall and a handful of states requesting the the NG troops THAT WERE ALREADY THERE be extended a few months. Where is the huge out pour from the states for NG troops?

I've seen more stories about vaccine doses having to be thrown away because they were expiring and they had no one to give them to and physicians being fire and even charged for giving them on a first come first serve because else they would trashed.

Doctor fired for giving away 10 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reportedly set to expire

(NEXSTAR) — A Texas doctor had just six hours to administer 10 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine was set to expire and had to be used before it went to waste.

So Dr. Hasan Gokal went to work finding people to give the vaccine out of his Houston home, including strangers and acquaintances. According to the New York Times, he gave the vaccine to two women — one in her 80s and one in her 90s, both with underlying health issues — a woman with a child who uses a ventilator and his wife, who has a pulmonary disease.

Gokal was fired for his actions, and the Harris County District Attorney’s office charged him with stealing the vaccine, worth $135.

“He abused his position to place his friends and family in line in front of people who had gone through the lawful process to be there,” Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said in a statement. “What he did was illegal, and he’ll be held accountable under the law.”

The charges were later dropped as groundless, but Gokal remains without work.

In my State under Trump the 80 and over were vaccinated within a week at the local drugstore. The next week 70 and over. Then Biden took charge. Still waiting for the next group which is 65 and over. A few in this group have been called to a local health Dept. location for shots but under Biden everything has more or less ground to a screeching halt. But they have set up a registration data base to collect (among other things) racial data. The death clock is ticking Joe.

Exactly. As I posted above the local pharmacies in my State (WV) were doing find. Then the health Department got in the act after Biden was in office. Everything is now in a holding pattern.
