What do you consider the biggest/largest threat to world humanity is, and why?

The climate imo is not a threat, temperatures and co2 are very low compared to earth's history.

I think we'll always suffer wars and bugs, but I think the threat is from AI. Best will in the world, no matter how much mankind will try to control it, it's the recipe to our impending disaster.

Right now it's Joe Biden, open US border and wanting to go to war with almost every country he's heard of.

I voted "WWIII", but you're right -- and the 'deliberate dumbing-down of society' is exactly what is required for some blithering idiot to get us INTO World War III. And we should remember, it doesn't have to be one of the 'bigs' that start the whole thing. That wasn't true in World War I, and it probably won't be true when we get a new world war started.

No, it'll probably be an outgrowth of some incredibly stupid thing done in the name of 'religion' (!), by some theocratic insane asylum like Iran, AFTER they get their hands on thermonuclear hydrogen weapons and the missiles to put them on-target.

Far left politics, one party rule which leads to political corruption and the ultimate loss of freedoms.

Biden keen to get into (a few more) wars, all at once:

"We're the United States of America for G*** Sake, we can take care of both of
these and still maintain our overall international defense(sic).

A light weight like Biden might think that getting into a war will boost his poll numbers. Or is he's totally senile, the people who run his administration think that.

    1. An Asteroid or comet hitting Earth. That has the potential to wipe out all life, not just human.
    2. Carrington Event: Solar flares taking out the power grid world wide. Fixing it wouldn't be quick or easy and we might spend a few decades in the 19th Century as a result.
    3. WWIII: I kind of wrap several disasters under this one: Nukes of course, EMP, and weaponized plagues. An artificially created plague is more of a threat to humanity than whatever nature pops up.

It's slightly worse in Britain, the island that threatened Russia with a nuclear war.

The British Prime Ministers have been totally out of control.

Now that the Russian Federation has thrown off control by the oligarchs, the oligarchs
only control most of the rest of the world.

Asteroids have happened before and will happen again. Nukes might be between the small powers like Iran vs Israel, but I don't see the Anglo races willing to absorb that much damage and radiation. China would in a minute if they thought they could pull it off.

After what most of this 'wonderful' 21st-century has been like, Mike, I wouldn't mind a few years of living back in the mid-20th century, from about 1955 to 1965. The country made A LOT MORE SENSE back then... but, by 1965, liberal Democrat Lyndon Johnson sent 125,000 Marines to Vietnam, and then everything went straight to hell... and it hasn't been right ever since, except for eight brief years under Ronald Reagan....

~ I and my childhood friends remember that time. We had balance in those days. There were awful things that happened — but many more good things to offset them. Society was different as well — better standards , more honestly, common sense and logical thinking.
I feel very lucky to have lived and experienced that generation.

You might think a return to the bucolic 19th or early 20th century would be a dream come true, but the cost of getting back there is maybe 100 million dead. People would starve to death anywhere they were not already growing their crops or ranching.

Again, honesty would have been a big help.

The Vietnam war was started like so many wars, using covert operations by the US, and
    it even looked silly once they had gotten a response from the Vietnamese;

you can only get one bullet stuck in a ship, turned into an almost unanimous decision to
wage the war in Vietnam, if the politicians are in the pockets of the weapons makers,
as Ike predicted would soon happen.

Vietnam USS Maddox bullet heard around the world 25pc.jpg

There it is, clear proof that we need to kill what turned out to be over 3 million Vietnamese.

Christian philosophers had long ago come up with the concept of a justifiable war,
and turning one bullet into a war violates the principle of proportionality.

Christianity has been the answer all along, but somehow it just isn't being used, nor
the Judeo basis which also exists.

The US built up a lot of good will after WW2 in particular, so it is a shame to see
rogue war-starting presidents like L Johnson, G W Bush and J. Biden throw it all away.

To quote the great Thomas Sowell "No society ever thrived because it had a large and growing class of parasites living off those who produce."
