It just doesn’t make sense. How can you advocate for such an unamerican concept?

What experts sorry curious george isn't an expert. We do not need more mergers there is too little competition in that field now. Someone pissing and moaning because his damn ox just got gored does not qualify as an expert.
I think I've said about a dozen times now that a prosecutors job isn't to exonerate it is to decide if there is sufficient evidence of a crime to prosecute. Mueller said no there wasn't. Once he made that statement he got as close to exonerating him as he ever will get.

Don's attempts to block a legal merger because he doesn't like CNN's coverage of him is an impeachable offense. Deal with it.

Let's get on with it. I don't even care at this point if the Senate GOP is hopelessly corrupted by self-service and partisanship and therefore won't vote to convict the con. The House needs to begin impeachment proceedings because that's what the Constitution and the laws of this land demand.

Read Lawrence Tribe's op-ed if you can. His idea is not to refer the matter to the Senate knowing the Repubs are in the bag for Crooked Donald.

That site does cause problems. I'm not going to unblock their ads :D and they're not going to let me read if I don't :(

Googling the link, though, I've found these about the article on another forum:

The point would not be to take old-school, House impeachment leading to possible Senate removal off the table at the outset. Instead, the idea would be to build into the very design of this particular inquiry an offramp that would make bypassing the Senate an option while also nourishing the hope that a public fully educated about what this president did would make even a Senate beholden to this president and manifestly lacking in political courage willing to bite the bullet and remove him.

Tribe makes a point I've been arguing for. First set up an impeachment inquiry. Present the evidence to the American People. Then decide whether to introduce articles of impeachment for a Constitutional impeachment.

    ------

"Much of the House Democratic caucus, at least one Republican member of that chamber (Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan), and more than a third of the nation’s voters, disagree.

They treat the impeachment power as a vital constitutional safeguard against a potentially dangerous and fundamentally tyrannical president and view it as a power that would be all but ripped out of the Constitution if it were deemed unavailable against even this president."

If that can work, I'm certainly in favor. Whatever gets the truth out there and gets this scumbag con dealt with as our laws and Constitution demand is fine by me.

It appears Pelosi's game plan is just that, to get the truth out there in a more compelling format than Mueller's report. Namely, public hearings in the House. Obviously, the corruption of Senate Repubs is too much to overcome so removal from office by impeachment is out of the question. The goal is to expose Don's crimes to the persuadable 20-30% of the voters who haven't been totally brainwashed by right wing media.

Thereisn't a president in the entire history of the country that hasn't attempted in some way or the other to assail his political foes.

There's a new op-ed in the NYT pointing out some disturbing parts of Mueller's report not getting enough attention. One has to do with Individual 1's claim of advanced knowledge that more dirt was coming from Wikileaks.

4 Disturbing Details You May Have Missed in the Mueller Report
Some troubling-to-outright-damning episodes have been lost in the noise around its release.

"Rick Gates, a top adviser, said that the campaign was “planning a press strategy, a communications campaign, and messaging based on the possible release” of Hillary Clinton emails by WikiLeaks."

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/06/07/...l?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage

Darn those pesky details. Like, who told Trump more stuff was coming? How did he know?

Trump claimed he knew about damaging Clinton emails in advance

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...knew-about-damaging-clinton-emails-in-advance

"The relevant section of the report has been heavily redacted by the justice department but one partially retained sentence says: “… while Trump and Gates were driving to LaGuardia Airport, [redacted], shortly after the call candidate Trump told Gates that more releases of damaging information would be coming.”

Educated predictions, prognosticating, and planning for all possible scenarios is not the same thing as having a certain foreknowledge.

    This doesn't sound like prognosticating.

"The relevant section of the report has been heavily redacted by the justice department but one partially retained sentence says: “… while Trump and Gates were driving to LaGuardia Airport, [redacted], shortly after the call candidate Trump told Gates that more releases of damaging information would be coming.”

Enough with the pettiness. The left owes the President an apology and should take a big sigh of relief that our President is not a traitor and that our country is safe. The left should bend over backwards to be nice for being so wrong and accusing him of the worst thing possible which carries the penalty of execution and/or life in prison. Instead, they go directly to another accusation. Democrats have become shamelessly reprobate. No one has ever been more justified and worthy of losing an election than Democrats. And the longer they continue on this trajectory, the more they will lose, including their personal peace, sanity, and reputations.

How so? It’s not a crime. The power of the executive vest in a president, he has the authority

It's not the prez's place to attack companies by, for example, abusing his power in suggesting the USPS should raise shipping rates on Amazon because Bezos owns the Wa Po which is critical of President Flim Flam. You'd be pulling your hair out if a Dem has done it.

He is derelict in his duty to protect the US as he has done virtually nothing to keep the Russians from interfering in the next election.

White House Has Given No Orders to Counter Russian Meddling, N.S.A. Chief Says

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/27/...a-cyber-command-russia-election-meddling.html

WASHINGTON — Faced with unrelenting interference in its election systems, the United States has not forced Russia to pay enough of a price to persuade President Vladimir V. Putin to stop meddling, a senior American intelligence official said on Tuesday.

Adm. Michael S. Rogers, the departing head of the National Security Agency and the military’s Cyber Command, said that he was using the authorities he had to combat the Russian attacks. But under questioning during testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee, he acknowledged that the White House had not asked his agencies — the main American spy and defense arms charged with conducting cyberoperations — to find ways to counter Moscow, or granted them new authorities to do so.
