Pure BS. I'm no fan of the present British government, but their concern is that if any statue is overturned then the vengeance might continue like wildfire. The French had the same concern, and they put the police out in front of the public statues - one of which was targeted by a known French painter who threw a can of red-paint at the statue that sits below the steps of France's national parliament. More willful exaggeration. I am sure that an investigation was made, and like ALL POLICE INVESTIGATIONS, it was not reported to the world in the British press. Which is a normal working practice of the police there. Bump it with a trumpet in the British Press is NOT their Modus Operandi ...
Typical LafayetteBis aggression and personal attack. Has absolutely nothing to do with what I said proving that your first comment was nothing other than a personal attack from a delusional, aggressive poster. Again just an attack knowing nothing of the issue or what had been said. This is not the first time you have been abusive to me when you yourself have been the one in the wrong. You are showing yourself to be an ignorant bully. Treat me once more like this and you are reported.
Wasn't pointing to you, but to your post. Duhhhhh. My comments are typically well articulated. (He said modestly! ;^) I don't know what you getting at and frankly, Madam, neither does it matter ...
Oh come on....that's an absurdity and has no basis in foundation rather....an emotional outburst floundering around seeking a receptive audience? In my view the UK has, collectively, laid out and allowed to flourish, one of the most articulate views of the person being of intrinsic value in the world today. Our whole political and social system is predicated upon the basis that people are sovereign individuals and that they should treat others as such and to me bland soundbites like that quoted seems to represent a blinkered, narrow minded, low resolution view of what is in actual fact a high resolution system of values where individuals matter. The UK has one of the most functional, peaceful and successful societies on this planet and that is not been arrived at out of the production of tribal mayhem but collective understanding of the overarching principal of individual sovereign rights. rubbish!
The vast bulk of the fighting in Europe took place in the northern countries. 4 x what took place in the rest of Europe. Consider the battle of Kursk. The Soviets did the bulk of the fighting.
