Not surprising given the media coverage. Where does all the rioting and property destruction fit? They'll probably win:

they peacefully protested against pigs, they were infiltrated and attacked by subversives who did most of the damage re court records.
they deserve a seat in Gmt. to quell the violence against good citizens.

They did give the drone bomber in chief, Obama, the prize, so why not?

To be fair, I don't like most presidents we've had in recent history. Our interventionism makes giving any president in recent history the Nobel peace prize a joke.

That's another example of an award that is a joke.

While I'm glad that you admit that it was racially motivated to give Obama that award, that isn't how the award is officially supposed to be given. The claim at the time was that he was encouraging peace through diplomacy, but apparently, his drone strikes and continuing most of the same strategy as Bush were overlooked in their evaluation.

it was not racially motivated, it was a first, a sign of changing times, a sign of diversity and equality, worthy of recognition

sadly the Trump era has set us backwards on race relations

Again, historically, the Nobel peace prize had nothing to do with celebrating diversity or showing how woke an organization can be by recognizing it. Now that they've crossed that line, it doesn't represent what it used to.

As far as race relations go, the media and progressives in general have a vested interest in raising racial tension, so that they can trick more people into believing that racists are around every corner and that they need progressives and government to protect them in every facet of life. With the race baiting of the media and politicians, it might give the illusion that we're highly racist, but ultimately, it's about control.

They can't have any power over you if you don't believe you're a victim.

In some ways, sure, but that has nothing to do with promoting peace in the Nobel prize context.

That being said, the fact that Obama is biracial and more specifically half-black shouldn't be particularly significant in evaluating his presidency. It's the fact that progressives fixate so much on race, gender, and sexuality that it makes their accusations of bigotry and bias rather humorous.

A true showing of not being biased or bigoted is to judge people by their actions, not their immutable traits. This includes both negative and positive judgments. I don't favor or dislike Obama due to his race. I judge him by his policies and actions.

So does this mean that the first female president should get the prize for encouraging "peace among the sexes"? If it truly has become a default minority award, then that's rather sad.

Rush stood up for true American values and freedom and change the landscape and was awarded after decades of doing so.

Well the Nobel peace prize have always been a farce..ever since De Klerk & Mandela won the peace prize whereafter 500 000 people were murdered in the 24 years that followed.

This is fitting, to nominate a violent mob for a NOT peace prize. It is the Nobel Death Prize

I get the rationale put forth in the nomination, but I think this Norwegian politician doing the nominating doesn't get how ironic it is.

Its a just cause but I don't see how a movement that sparked race riots at cost of human lives and a billion+ in damages, is promoting peace in any way.

If this was the Nobel Prize for Social Justice, well then I'd say well earned since violence and damages are part of the beef to begin with.

It stands to reason. Now that effectively democrats have all but in name become socialist/communists, it's not like they can invoke the red terror... But this is an interesting point. This is what the Chinese have done, including this enforcement of their "social credit" garbage that democrats seem so keen on implementing in this country, constitutional protections be damned.

Well I suggest bitchin' to the Norwegian dude that nominated it. Like his opinion should inflame certain passions. Oh wait, wasn't trump nominated twice? A huge number of people around the world can nominate whoever the hell they want. if you were one of them you could have nominated Ted Cruz.
