Don't know if he'd be safer in jail or locked in his house (probably with police protection). His future is not bright, and rightfully so. I think most people in the country wouldn't mind him being thrown in prison for a very long time.

Washington already had what he wanted, a lot of slaves in chains. The only freedom he was fighting for was the freedom to keep black people as slaves.

Except for the stupidity of opening WILDLIFE REFUGES for hunting, I agree with nearly 100% of what Mr. Trump has done.

Best PRESIDENT in 100 years at least.

That just shows that the Target management is not in tune with 21st Century social problems in America. Savvy management would have taken steps to hire a large security force to protect the store. Instead, they acted like trump and didn't take steps to protect their charge from devastation.

Keep 'protesting' against the evil white conservatives that have zero power in any of these cities, but keep electing democrats to every single position of power (police chief, mayor, city councils, governor, etc) and wonder why things like this happen. Takes a really special kind of stupid

The FBI will do their usual coverup and find that the thug cops were justified in breaking the guy's neck. Besides, didn't trump say on numerous times that the FBI isn't worth a damn? Do you think he really wants them to do a good job on this case? That is being naive.

Yes. He may even be thinking that we need to go a bit deeper. Some of these failed cities have to be essentially criminal enterprises. Take Chicago for example, how many Aldermen are on the take from the gangs that openly operate criminal enterprises, how many police officers and judges? Where there is proper predicate, I think US Attorney's working with the FBI should impanel grand juries and start digging.

Our Legislature has NEVER authorized the judicial doctrines of immunity for judges, cops and prosecutors, I'd like to see the Legislature clearly pass legislation ending this self-serving judicial practice. So long as a Judge, Prosecutor or Police Officer is acting within their authority and bounds of the law, they are fine, but they step outside of that and they are exposed to the same criminal and civil personal liability as you and I are.

This entire time, seeing what Trump has been subjected to, has been fascinating to me. Most of us NEVER experience the malicious prosecution and abuse of process, dirty prosecutors pulling guilty pleas out of you because if you don't do as they say, the dirty bastards will hang you and maybe a loved one to boot, that the Black Community has been claiming they are routinely subjected to. Trump and the Republicans are more sensitized to these issues than they have been in the last 140 years.

We should be at a point of wide enough consensus that we can finally get things done.

I'd like to see the criminal justice system focused on restitution rather than retribution. On crimes where a dollar amount of loss can be determined, and violence isn't part of the criminal's history, they work off their debt, plus penalty, in an industry within a minimum security facility, at minimum wage. Once they have paid back their victim, plus penalty, their violation is extinguished and they leave the experience, hopefully, with a marketable skill.

Where you have no victim, you have no crime.

Those are longer range opportunities for criminal justice reform, here and now, for this situation, these officers need to be held to account before the law to the fullest extent possible and very publicly shamed before the entire nation.

Every community has a mixture of those urging action and those urging restraint and consideration. When the Black Community is subjected to something like this, and believe me, every Black Mom and Grandmother saw her son or grandson under that bastards shin, with his life slowly and painfully being extinguished. They live in daily fear of this, every time they sons and grandsons go out and they fight it down until they hear them safely return.

When incidents like this happen, the power promptly flows from those urging restraint and consideration right into the hands of the hot heads demanding immediate action. And the ones who would normally urge restraint and consideration, watching the video, what can they really say? I'm sure their tendency is silence, seriously, what in the world can you say to those urging immediate public demonstration?

You think there is some large supple of idle security guards in Minneapolis just sitting around waiting for a phone call on 24- to 48-hour notice? LOL

Buy a clue. It is unconstitutional to imprison someone for debt.

    "Text of Section 12:

    Imprisonment for Debt; Property Exemption

No person shall be imprisoned for debt in this state, but this shall not prevent the legislature from providing for imprisonment, or holding to bail, persons charged with fraud in contracting said debt. A reasonable amount of property shall be exempt from seizure or sale for the payment of any debt or liability. The amount of such exemption shall be determined by law. Provided, however, that all property so exempted shall be liable to seizure and sale for any debts incurred to any person for work done or materials furnished in the construction, repair or improvement of the same, and provided further, that such liability to seizure and sale shall also extend to all real property for any debt to any laborer or servant for labor or service performed."

They don't need a TV. They will sell them to a pawn shop for cash, or barter them for drugs.

He probably never resisted arrest. It's just the "escape" the police use to be abusive. Everybody can clearly see that he's cuffed behind his back, lying there doing nothing with the white thug busy getting him killed. No other police officer steps is.

    And this is just typical.

We all know any random white cop could have killed an unarmed black man not resisting arrest just like this any given day. They don't care at all if the guy's last words are "I can't breathe". It happened before. It's just being mocked with. This is simply typical. No cop even tries to intervene or anything. That too is just typical.

Just an other day of an unarmed black man being killed by a white thug.
Arrests made against the murders: zero
    Also typical.

Decent, mentally stable people don't commit crime and resist arrest! Is the idea that the fact he could say he couldn't breathe demonstrates he obviously could not sinking in?

The store management slept and the store got devastated. They could have hired 100 locals to stand as a perimeter around the store for $200 each ($20,000).

How do you deal with the irrational? Rationally, stop them dead in their tracks. If the choice is between rioting and looting vs a few dead thugs? I choose a few dead thugs. If they want revolution, bring it on, the National Guard could use the exercise.
