That said your tax idea is Robin Hood syndrome and the exact reason people will do just about anything to avoid paying taxes.

ok, you want some people to get free **** and not others, and to tax certain people to give money to the first group again. well, that is really silly and perpetuates a negative attitude towards those who want free stuff.

How would you change the white culture to make it less racist? (For that matter, how would blacks change the black culture to make it less racist?)

Cultures tentacles are far deeper than you seem to think. Think how long it's taken to embrace equal rights for women.

The choice of whether to embrace or reject elements of a culture is entirely individual. It's on each of us to reject the bad and keep the good, as we see fit.

So what. You expect migrants to reject negatives of their cultures (eg not throw gays from the top of buildings, or practice female genital mutilation, or sell their 14 year old daughters into arranged marriages, etc etc), so why would it be any different for locals?

There are plenty of American parents who take education seriously. Mostly those who embraced that element of their particular culture.

You might inquire as to the reason for my remark.

As you know, there is an element on the forum who think whatever complaint they have about black communities is best resolved by 'blacks fixing the black community.' Okay--they should tell blacks do to fix [fill in the blank]? I'm prepared to give them a shot. While they're at it, they can tell white people how to fix the racism in their community. Of course, they don't have answers for any of it.

 

I'm waiting for answers with an explanation for why they make sense.
