I think this speaks volumes of what a picayune force the Royal Navy has become.

You want protection for submarines, get your own nuclear subs. Nothing is more dangerous to a sub than another sub. These glorified fishing boats are just targets.

I also think they are a bad idea. They are slow, crew training would be hard for all the different systems and operations, and supporting 5 ships at sea all with different roles, systems and armament would be very hard and costly. However these ships could be a good starting point for a anti-piracy ship or a UAV littoral combat ship, both things I would like the UK to have.

If you are going to wrongly insult my nations navy, then atleast do it in English. The UK has nuclear powered submarines 11 of them infact, 4 nuclear missile submarines, 5 Trafalgar class attack submarines and 2 Astute class attack submarines which are replacing the Trafalgar class over the next 10 years, 7 Astute class submarines will be built in total. Then the UK is also build 2 65,000 ton short take off and vertical landing aircraft carriers, 4 new Tide class replenishment ships and will have 6 Type 45 destroyers which fully equipped with Sea Ceptor could carry 144 shot range anti-air missiles, the UK is also building 13 Type 23 frigates. So all in all the UK will have a rather powerful battle fleet.
