United States Customs and Border Protection say they have arrested at least two more members of the notorious MS-13 gang, and two convicted — and previously deported — sex offenders trying to cross the United States-Mexico border.

The democrat party is so determined to undermine America's sovereignty that it has even partially shut down the govt.

In 2017 there were 310,000 border apprehensions, that's just how many got caught. And I couldn't tell you how many MS13 gang bangers flew into the country, but it would seem odd that people who don't have a pot to piss in can afford to come here by plane.

"Secure borders" is not something that is black and white; all or nothing. Even if the borders were only 1% secure we would eventually catch a bad actor. The more secure the borders are, the more bad actors we can catch. That makes sense, right? That is how things work in the real world, which is rarely black and white.

The borders are now more secure thanks to the help of the military. Is that your long-term solution? Keep the military there? Do you think that is more effective or less expensive than building/fixing the "wall" and increasing border security? The alt-left jumped all over the Trump tweet about the borders now being secure, but they didn't think it through all the way as to "now" and "why".

What extra thinking was required... The military to the border was a political stunt (that failed), the military has done very little to help secure the border to date, therefore the border is already as secure as it needs to be for a free country. Trump knows that and he let it slip out once...

The "why" is that we have a confused old man in the WH....

 

Maybe Republicans shouldn't have refused to vote on the immigration bill in 2013 that earmarked 40 billion dollars for border security. Now they want a vanity wall. Pretty damn funny.

The political and economic system a country enjoys has no bearing on the scope and size of necessary border security. What dictates the level of necessary border security is what and how many of 'x' are trying to enter a country illegally.
