They are separate entities. They are also the same MSA. Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Within Redding itself the vote was largely the same. There were closer precincts and ones that topped the county.

Yes, all of which I noted.

The real test will be what your county decides to do as a replacement.

I'd point out that many whole states have eliminated any need for the kind of equipment that Dominion makes for use by voters.

I'm not surprised that you think this is about Dominion and not about the numerous problems of in-person voting at precincts.

This is exactly what I was thinking. This is about the best thing that could happen for Dominion. Imagine subpoenaing members of the Shasta county board to appear before the lawsuits. They can simply asked them what cause the loss of trust that made them switch from Dominion voting machines? Obviously there would not be any evidence based answer and then they can show the damage that Fox News and others have had in hurting their business reputation.

That’s just ridiculous. Why would anyone elsewhere care which electronic /computerized company we decide to use. After the state forced us to give up paper ballots hand counted which we had forever and went back to when the 1st computer version failed. The election office unilaterally went with dominion. As of now the board of supervisors overruled that decision and now she has to pick one of the other two options. We will keep our infrastructure that the state doesn’t maintain as well for us as it does in big urban areas.

Are you in California? If not, I’m not sure that’s an option for us here according to state law.

In person voting at the precinct on Election Day is not a problem. It is a solution to many existing problems.

It has as much to do with the supervisors not trusting / liking the person supervising elections in the county. I don’t think that Dominion will benefit much from the airing of that in a court room. Here in Ca. Local offices are “non partisan” but it’s easy to find out who is in what party by registration and position statements. Here the elections are between Bush 43 establishment Republicans and MAGA Trump/De Santis Republicans. The establishment won offices (DA, Sheriff, Superintendent of schools) along with our only democrat the elections office in June. She’s had the office 25 years and most here like her personally. The MAGA won a recall earlier last year and in November won two more seats for a 4-1 over the establishment. So a democrat picking Dominion didn’t sit well with the new board and they overruled her and ended dominion. Domino can’t benefit from that. Basically no conservative Republican county in the country will use dominion.

Then what was the point you were trying to make? Did you think I thought every precinct here voted 73-27? Where I live here, the Jefferson/Greater Idaho top of the yellow part of my icon here, is total Trump MAGA country. Here, the harder California turns to the left, the harder we go to the right in response.

In person voting has numerous problems, each significant enough to affect outcomes.

Yes, it is reasonable to question whether Dominion will be reasonably remunerated.

MUCH more importantly, these lies against Dominion were a continuing effort to overthrow our democratic election and to reach new heights in lying as a political weapon.

Also, I don't believe you have a CLUE how many or who has taken part in the blatant lies about Dominion.

    Those sued include:

    Fox News,
    Fox Business
    Rudy Giuliani,
    Sidney Powell,
    Michelle Malkin
    Joseph Oltmann.
    OANN,
    Newsmax,
    The Gateway Pundit
MYPillow CEO Mike Lindell (filing stories under names such as 'FightforTrump,' '45,' 'Proof,' and 'QAnon') and has continued making lies about Dominion
    Frankspeech
    Pat Cipollone
DirecTV (it's has been suggested they could well fail due to legal costs alone)
    Rupert Murdoch
CEO Lachlan Murdoch (who a judge stated had most likely acted with malice, knowing their statements were false. Jared K.'s book states that Murdoch told him personally that the statements about Dominion and Arizona were false, indicating that Murdoch new the truth)
    American Thinker,

This is not just one lawsuit. There are a good number. For instance, Mike Lindell has his very own suit.

There have been numerous appeals by these people and companies to dismiss the suits as well as attempts to charge Dominion with process violations, etc. These have FAILED, even when carried to the Republican Supreme Court.

Interestingly, Fox dumped its first amendment specialist (who centered on dismissal ideas) and instead hired a trial lawyer for their case - clearly indicating this is going to go to trial.

I seriously hope our legal system has the guts to hold these LIARS responsible for the damage they did in this case - if not others.

And conservative states and counties seeing Dominion going after conservative persons and media sources in these suits only increases conservatives hatred of this company and assures that dominion will forever more only be able to win contracts in blue counties and states. The more they resort to lawsuits the more they will be dumped because they do. Filing the lawsuits was like a corporate death wish by dominion. They are public enemy #1 to rank and file everyday conservatives all across America because of their lawsuits

    No, we are not.

Here are the 10 most conservative places in California for 2019:
    1. Susanville (Photos)
    2. Corning (Photos)
    3. Red Bluff (Photos)
    4. Redding (Photos)
    5. Anderson
    6. Shasta Lake
    7. Orland
    8. Willows (Photos)
    9. Ione (Photos)
    10. Marysville (Photos) https://www.roadsnacks.net/most-conservative-cities-in-california/ Number one is in the county just east of us. Numbers 2 and 3 in the county just south of us. Redding is #4 and Anderson and Shasta Lake City are also in Shasta County. Shasta Lake City is just north of us and Anderson Cottonwood are just south of us. Unincorporated areas Bella Vista and Palo Cedro and the area around them have a combined population around 10k and Keswick, Shasta, Igo, Ono and all the rural homes between them to the west another 5k or so. 135k of Shasta County’s 180k population likes in or within 10 miles of Redding city limits. Numbers 7&8 are just south of Corning and all of #2-8 are along I-5 and on or near the Sacramento River.

It’s too bad that we can’t have a rational discussion of an important issue brought to the board for conversation here

To achieve the same results? That's amazingly fiscally brilliant...

Seems we need a Shasta County addendum to the classic comment about history repeating itself...

Insanity is doing something expensive to change something that will remain the same (because of unexplained butthurt)

Maybe your county can spend another million to put up Red/Yellow/Green stoplights to replace the current Green/Yellow/Red stoplights??

Perhaps Shasta County could go to a quill and parchment system

Clearly the population here through our elected board of supervisors disliked dominion and got rid of it. It is seen as a symbol of of not a tool of democrat control over us and was banished from here. That the democrat minority here through their media are throwing a tantrum about it is proof enough that it is the right decision.

They are part of a series of conservation Sacramento Valley farm oriented towns along I-5 from Arbuckle up to Cottonwood. It is odd that progressives mock the sources of the food they eat targeting rural America in general. MAGA country even in California.

To stick it to the man, Newsomsnd urban progressives and to feed the narrative they we’ve been taken over by a right wing militia so that liberals won’t even consider moving here to try a project purple on us. That we love rodeo and have a week long celebration of it each year, love country music, have more guns than people and more pickups than 4 door sedans and have a huge conservative mega church and pro business city and county government here all are used to lure people and businesses fleeing other parts but want or need west coast exposure or our slowed lifestyle with great parks and schools while appalling and repelling liberals.
