When you put it in terms of offense and defense it makes it sound like a game. The problem is this game you are playing will not lead to solutions. It is simply each side taking turns pointing fingers at each other.

Though this incident is getting me to see why arming teachers is actually a bad idea. Most teachers are liberal, so even those willing to carry guns likely don’t know how to use them, and would lack what is necessary to defend kids from a shooter anyway.

The idea isn't really to arm teachers.

The idea is to let teachers who already have a CCW to do so everywhere.

After all, there's nothing to stop a crazy person, including a teacher, from bringing a gun in anyway.

Unless all access is controlled and they search everyone entering, there is no way to stop lunatics from bringing in guns.

Your belief is likely wrong. More likely, this is an example of how arming teachers is a terrible, terrible idea politically for the NRA and pro gun right. All it takes is ONE teacher to have an issue and shoot up their class room and guess who takes the blame for it?
