Comey's hand got forced by the NY division of the FBI. They were furious the Clinton investigation got shoveled under the rug. Comey had no choice had he done nothing he would have been bar-b-qued by congress and fired either way when it came out.

Comey should have just done his job as a non-partisan LEO and recommended charges against Clinton...........and let the DOJ decide whether or not to indite. But no......................the fix was in. Obama's DOJ washed their hands of it and let the FBI take the heat. He was a dumbass, and took the fall for dropping the ball. Useful idiot. That's Comey.

 

The Russians interfered in the elections and got Donald Trump elected. James Clapper and John Brennan told me so.

 

Comey did do his job, where he crossed the line is giving a political speech about it before the election and then re-opening the case for a week right before the election again before knowing if it needed to be open

Comey thought Clinton would win, so he thought he would hurt her, but not cause her to lose, thus be safe

his mistake was asking tough against Trump, and I mean "acting", as I think he was gonna let Trump off easy, but he had to make the public think he was gonna be tough on Trump, the problem was Trump believed him and fired him.... I still think Trump has something to hide and if he does I hope it comes out, may be something as simple as money laundering or tax evasion, who knows

I hope the truth comes out after the 2020 election though, I want him to lose and then the truth to come out so he can't pardon his family or hs VP pardon him if they did anything wrong

I see you realize exactly how much of a liability Halper is. But there's more ... and it's worse. Halper was paid handsomely an "analysis" that alleged Flynn was colluding with Russia. Halper claimed Flynn, who used Svetlana Lokhova as an interpreter, at a Cambridge event, had been recruited by the FSB. Cambridge comes up a lot. Halper's analysis was viewed as absurd by the DOJ / FBI ... but some months later when Flynn joined Trump's campaign Sally Yates began covert surveillance of Flynn. Halper is the "sources" and "methods" the FBI is hiding.

 

Brennan's not a guy who'll ever own up to his SNAFU's. Ever seen this guy just admit he'd been caught in lie? Never going to happen, and I'm sure Susan Rice would back him 100% ... 'cause she's "patriotic" too and had no reservations when lying to protect Clapper. So besides Brennan and Reality Winner ... aslo sans security clearance :: what other persons posing threats to national security should we admire for their "patriotism"?

What I don't get is why there is such outrage Brennan has rightfully had his security clearance pulled.

I would imagine he still has his network of connected people. They can feed whatever conspiracy theory Brennan is trying to sell. Hell, they don't even have to exist.

For the last 3 yrs. ALL Brennan's "intel" has come from Buzzfeed, Chris Steele, Fusion GPS, and Hakluyt & Co. anyway. ALL are still willing to supply as much "intel" as Brennan is willing to pay for. Brennan's used to the luxury of having tax dollars at his disposal for that purpose. He's upset "sources" like Halper on the DoD payroll are off limits now.

Here's the long and short of it for me on the Brennan situation. Frankly, I believe that nobody is 'entitled' to a constitutional right to security clearances, as I've seen claimed. And I don't see a good reason for anybody to have security clearances for life. I'd say 2 years after leaving office is probably a good cutoff, to allow for former chiefs to assist newer ones if needed.

However, in this case, Brennan did nothing to warrant losing his and since Trump won't do the same for Mike Flynn (who HAS done something to warrant losing his), this is going to be seen for what it is, and what was described in the letter from the former intel chiefs.. . a blatantly political move... It won't be forgotten, like he believes....

 

Neither Brennan or Halper should have clearance. Their political activists 1st everything else 2nd ...

 

Perhaps that's it.

It still won't stop him, and others like him, from making things up. The left's media partners certainly don't have any problem running with that type of "story".

Exactly. The phony appearance of credibility Brennan's "being in the know" has been "stolen" ... and that's what makes him a "top shelf" media pundit ... ALL secret clearanced should be revoked automatically upon separation IMO. Allow departing personal a window beforehand to petition otherwise. Security waivers can always be granted if circumstances warrant. All the fake outrage is just hillarious! Brennan's Helsinki treason rant didn't get him 1/100th of the attention his revocation has. Trump silences(?) critics! Brennan has diarrhea of the mouth ... ... and MSM can't devote enough air time to his grievances.

 

Look, I kind of agreed with your clearance "cut off" ... Yes, Flynns clearance needs revoked if it hasn't been. IMO a grace period for ALL former personnel before revocation en masse, is what needs to be hammered out. Allow former gov't personnel time to petition for an exclusion to revocation and purge everyone else. Sourcing leaks of classified intel is seriously hampered by the volume of potential suspects with access.
