I have been to the U.K. many...many times and I never understood why the British Police allow protests and riots to break out and get out of hand. As well in the U.S. everyone is entitled to their opinion and entitled to protest as long as they get a permit to have a large scale street protest but there are some very serious Islamic Jihadists operating out of the U.K. and they PUBLICLY discuss acts of SEDITION in the streets....on the internet and even on TV!!! Oh this is fine. In Massachusetts where I live they changed the law so that a person who has up to 1 oz. of Pot is not committing a crime as they TICKET any such person but the Police have decided to no longer ticket people. This cleared up the court system and made it easier to prosecute violent criminals and it saved the taxpayers at least a Billion Dollars. I have no problem with what they are doing. AboveAlpha
These are just non-violent pot offenders who were incarcerated due to outdated pot laws. They pose no threat to society and as Massachusetts has already done this a few years ago and we have had no problems the same your prevail. AboveAlpha
I don't understand the drugs thing, but doesn't 'pot' cause loss or impairment of sensory perceptions the same as I understand others do? If pot is as harmless as you say, I don't know why it was proscribed in the first place to warrant the issue of tickets.
Studies on Pot excluding the Medicinal benefits have placed Pot basically as no greater a threat than alcohol. I personally don't smoke but a person who smokes pot is more apt to raid the fridge rather then become violent in any way. They have legalized pot in Colorado and it will most likely continue to become legal in many states. AboveAlpha

There is a difference. Driving under the influence of alcohol can be easily detected with a simple breathalyzer test that can be administered on site. Marijuana requires a blood test that cannot be done roadside and can take 24 to 48 hours.

That is not admissable evidence in court unless the officer finds marijuana on the person or in the vehicle.
Well yes but 99% of the time a person does have pot in the car. Besides there are a vastly higher percentage of drunk drivers then there are stoned drivers. AboveAlpha
