yeah I think thats probably what it was they wouldnt make money after the crash cause people didnt trust them, though I would have still flown on one. we are going backwards now the concorde (is there an e I'm not sure) was the pinnacle of technology in air travel. I watched this programme once where they showed how people will travel in the future, tunnels on the seabed with really high speed like trains that travel about 3500 mph and the tunnel isnt in a fixed position it kind of moves and changes shape with the water amazing stuff. hope I live to see that.

you could google it if you werent so lazy ;) you know I was thinking last night as well that soon all new houses will have everything done by remote probably, like you will be able to switch lights on and heating and maybe even close and open windows by remote control, you can probably do that already in some places but it will be everywhere someday.

Cheeky monkey :) All of that is ........ and much much more, where the other half live.

We should all be making as much of our own energy as poss with little wind things and solar panels but the big companies wouldn't like that eh ?

I'm not so crazy about mod cons ...I like a nice open fire and a good book :)

yeah I see that appeal of the fire and the book and really with the world going all green this stuff wont happen cause people will need to be economic with their use of energy, but Im lazy, so if I'm lying in bed at night and cant be bothered getting up to switch the light off I want a remote control is that too much to ask ?

But you can do that ....green or no. 'Green' for want of a better word, shouldn't mean less, it should just mean a better way rather than a very profitable way, for the few.

well yeah but its just wasteful unless you find a more efficient source of power that is renewable, like wind solar water etc. either that or hire a small vietnamese child to do these things for me, thats pretty green no carbon footprint give someone a job etc.

    Slave labour ?!

Just have an old fashion pull switch, its' just a peice of string oooooor have your remote . If your energy was homemade 'renewable' were is the waste ?
All this guilt is making us stupid really, we can't think straight for all the wicked things we have done by just being born ! ............. It is all just practical problems with practical solutions which could be truly wonderful ......except for them buggers who want all our dosh and insist in keeping the World in a State of disfunctionality because they aspire to nothing more than just and only making money.

who said slave I would pay him well and give him xmas off

you know what else I would like, say youre watching tv in bed at night, fine right, but I dont always lie flat on my back I might want to lie on my side, so Id like to have a remote that moves the tv and rotates it so that whatever way youre lying you can still see it okay and the right way up

Anything approachning a man of the people, who may offer something different, better for more, is almost pushed to the periphery here.

That is why you end up with a warmonger like Blair as PM, and not, for example, a Tony Benn, when he was at his peak.

I watch it too much. It is a brainwashing machine. I can always watch 'catch up' if there is something I really want to see ......much more peacful and happier without. Especially the News ....brainwashing !

Threw it out about seven years ago and spent many years before without one .......you live :)

I might get one again one day but not whilst I spend as much time at home as I do at the mo ...........:)

Even a Galloway would be a hundred times better than a Cameron, for most people, imo.

Of course, portrayed as too 'radical' or some BS, when in fact a good speaker, and speaks as a true leader may.

I would like to see what sort of cabinet he would put together.

Of course, zero chance, pushed to the edges.

I am not 100% a fan, I think he plays up the image he has of himself a bit too much, and doing things like Big Brother, does not help.

galloway has ruined his credibility when he pretended to be a cat live on national tv, but his performance at the senate hearings over iraq was legendary. he's from very close to here actually.

    Yes.

    Not a high spot.

Pretending to be a cat is not usually a winner.

Tony Benn was a bit nutty actually when he was in Parliament he used to go into strange fanatical rages , a bit mad. Foot and Enoch who were really good friends were honest men. Foot said it should have been Enoch and that is was both his and the countries tragedy that he wasn't the PM ........ There were others but I forget now ..............long ago eh ? Another time.

My daughter had tea with Tony Benn, he often invites people for tea, when they write him, very ameanable he is ,sweet so very sweet and so of a past time eh :)

Struck me as a good and knowledeable man, more so than a Blair or Cameron.

I would trust the key to him, more than those two, that is for sure.
