I see you still don’t know how a bill becomes law.

They didn’t. Your numbers are wrong. The highest deficit after 2012 under Obama was $679 billion.

Trump has a business background and doubled the deficit. Your claim doesn’t seem to reflect reality.

Read the title of the link you sent. That’s the deficit compared to goods produced. What that means is the percentage of goods produced in the US had no where else to go but up after the recession. Hell, the recession was so bad that even I could’ve had 4 consecutive years of positive growth as president.

Your claim doesn’t seem to reflect reality. The National deficit when Trumps budget became effective in Jan ‘20 was about $20.5 trillion. The deficit right now is about $23.2 trillion. That’s no where near double unless you’re using that liberal left math. Trump yearly deficit is roughly the exact same as Obama’s, both are about $1 trillion per year.

We need to cut costs across the board. Not political, not biased, not partisan, not anything but cutting cost. Many of the $2.2 trillion social services are by far the biggest cost to the US with no return. At least the $900 billion defense spending pays military personnel, contracts to companies that actually employ people and education, training and job skills.

It’s so small of an increase because Obama needed the spending down to make the Dems look good for the election, but that didn’t work.

So you’re saying that 2014 & 2016 came before 2012? You must be using that new liberal left calendar. Obama nearly doubled the deficit. And the 2018 budget was set under Obama even though Trump was president.

Barack Obama: Added $8.588 trillion, a 74% increase from the $11.657 trillion debt at the end of Bush’s last budget, FY 2009.

You need to recheck your numbers.

I believe we’re on the same page it’s just that the physical year starts Sept 30 and I was stating actual years. Its one or half a dozen of another.

Bush 2 increased the debt by 101%, Obama by 74% during a recession, and trump is on pace to exceed the amount that was added during the Obama administration.

When do we start getting the debt under control, if we cannot do it during a “great economy” then when? Where did the tea party go?

Trump doubled the deficit. That is a demonstrable fact of reality.

Spending is the only thing keeping this economy going.

Don’t just state something. Post your assertion with facts

That’s been a basic economic fact since the Great Depression. The ball must keep rolling. The problem is if the ball rolls to fast we eventually overextend ourselves as we did in ‘08 and if the ball slows too much we’ll be in the likes of the economic crunch of the Carter Administration. The secret to a strong economy is balance. A constant 3% GDP, sub 5% unemployment, an inflation rate of around 2.5% and a president that isn’t a p*ssy.

Yes...I have had a go at making that point before. No luck. It is very easy for an Administration to 'create' jobs, 'improve' pay etc etc...if you simply pay for it with borrowed money. Any idiot can do that. Your Grandkids etc etc will be paying for Trump's 'successes.'

    some true statements:

Trump has dropped the ball on controlling spending.
    The House writes the budget.
Dem's say that Trump's Tax cut is the problem even though tax revenue is up from last year.

All that he could? What pressure has he put on Congress to reduce the deficit?

Trump knows the economy is failing, he is just hoping at this point it doesn't happen until after the election

Trump's tax cuts for the rich are not trickling down, imagine that

the fed is keeping interest rates low and dumping billions into the economy to keep it afloat as long as possible, that will only make things worse in the end

the fed doesn't do those things in a "great" economy

never should of gave the tax cuts to the rich in the first place, your right, now that we gave them the tax cuts, it will be hard to ever take them away and set them back to what they were under Reagan

Bush told us tax cuts for the rich were the answer, now Trump is doing the same....

now Trump wants tax cut 2.0, don't fool yourself, the only thing Trump want's is to remove the estate tax for the rich....

Trump isn't spending jack. FYI, the budget is the job of the House which is run by Democrats. And we already know how much they will whine and cry and claim millions are dying if Trump veto's the budget bill. Trump could be more vocal and complain about the bill and be more proactive in trying to cut costs.

Why do the Republicans NEVER stop spending when they control the WH and both houses of congress, as they did in Trump's first two years? The fiscally responsible thing to do would be to cut spending first, then cut taxes. Never happens. I know why. Do you?

Trump had the House in his first two years. That dog won't hunt, but nice try.
