Ever had the desire to go out into the middle of nowhere to attend a festival that will last for 7 days?

The town is as close to a ghost town as could exist anywhere. Everything has to be brought in from miles away. All to party and see something like this?

And all for $380 per person plus $40 vehicle pass. Raring to go? Read more @ http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/30/burning-man-2014-art_n_5632531.html

I've heard of this, NatGeo magazine had an article on it a few years ago.
I'd take a wild guess and say there probably aren't many registered Republicans attending this event. More like the neo-hippy, Obama welfare crowd looking for an excuse for a drug and casual sex binge in the desert. Always a few accidental ODs in the course of the week and frankly it's doing society a favor.

I remember when it first started, it was sort of a get away for Californians who wanted to party without interference. Selecting a place in the middle of nowhere and being able to get a local sheriff to turn his back stimulated them.

As with anything, when more and more people gather, the more commercialized it gets. It also helps that all those people bring lots of $$$$$ to a country with revenue problems.

The Electric thingamajigee here in Vegas is similar. Bigger and bigger every year with more $$$ coming in.

I went in 03. Mind blowing experience.

I'd be curious and interested in going back, but the prices are way to high now a days.

My friends from pK do audio and visuals for stages there.
