Took a strong Clinton economy and tanked it.
Took us into two unwinnable wars, murdering hundreds and thousands of innocent people.
Bailed out banking sociopaths, giving them billions of our money.
Enabled mortgage-lending sociopaths to destroy the housing market.

How can it be denied that Bush was one of the worst presidents in American history ?

Iraq alone would be toxic, just like Blair, who did a reasonable job apart from being complicit in 100,000 deaths.

    It can't be denied.

In essence Bush jr was the puppet of Cheney and his nefarious criminal cohorts.

But it will be the Bush name that is in the records and yes, it will be right down there near the bottom.

Perhaps the kindest thing I can say about him was that he is a better ex-potus than he ever was as president.

100K deaths ? Try nearly a million. Without Bush/Blair, there would be relative calm in the Middle East.
Both should be tried for war crimes, period.

You forgot 9/11 on Bush's watch. Looking confused while listening to My Pet Goat and doing squat to make sure it all went down with rousing success. His war crimes under pretext of 9/11 paved the way for his next 2 war criminal successors. Worst? That's arguable, the next 2 were/are no angels.

Complete idiocy. RELATIVE CALM in the MIDDLE EAST!!???? WTF!!!

Did you completely miss the 90s? How many major and minor bombing campaigns was President Clinton have to launch against Iraq? Three or four major and innumerable minor ones while hundreds of thousands of Iraqis died unnecessarily.

You forgot taking a surplus budget and turning it into a new record deficit to pander to m/billionaires.

One of his most unpardonable sins, IMO.

    BZZZZT Wrong!

Bush jr's FIRST recession only started after the peak in March 2001.

Clinton was far worse than either Bush or even Obama, a big factor in 2008 due to disastrous financial industry consolidation wave/"speaking fee" quid pro quo, and became super rich on the backs of the taxpayer in the process. Anyone interested in quantifying the graft can just look at a history of who, curiously, would pay a disgraced, disbarred, impeached President over $150 million in "speaking fees" upon leaving office. Those cronies are the co-conspirators, and history will never unravel all the myriad ways the country was sold down the river to foreign interests and domestic crooks during that time.

The "Clinton Economy" and "Clinton Surplus" were actually the dot.com boom and aforesaid overheating due to antitrust fraud, not anything to do with government generally or tax policy. Any modest positive tax policy impact on the economy or fiscal health of the time was due to the IRC reform in the 80s.

If there ever was a POTUS in the pockets of Wall Street, and even worse, foreign interests, it was Clinton.

Thats when it officially became a recession, not when the downturn started. Nice try though.

Other than FDR and Truman and Johnson and Nixon, Bush II was awful, yes.

One of the five worst moderns.

Hmm, the economy tanked because of an unsustainable equity bubble which began its fall before Bush became President. The economic downturn after 9/11 was very short.

No president is responsible for economic changes in his first year in office. President Bush was responsible for both the big recession (sometimes foolishly called the Great Recession) that began in late 2007. Of course that also means Bush was responsible for the recovery, albeit a tepid one, that began in 2009.

Imagine a world where we quit obsessing about political blame and started learning from history. Perhaps we are too far gone in our race to failure.

Who appointed you the posting monitor? You're free to leave and post YOUR drivel anywhere you like with your own "ilk" if you'd rather post your drivel elsewhere. 9/11 happened on Bush's watch whether you want to believe it or not.

No the economy tanked itself when the internet bubble burst. The wars were winnable. We just decided not to do what was necessary to win them. That isn't on Bush. The banks have paid back all them money. The mortgage lending sociopaths were enabled during the Clinton administration. Bush doesn't rank high with me but, in my lifetime, he certainly wan't the worst. For me he was the second most destructive after Obama and the third worst after Obama and Carter. But then, I'm not into liberalism.

When Bush ran as a conservative in 2000, I voted for him.
Unfortunatly, he proved to be a nation-building, bank bailout loving, anti-Free Market, war monger. He did nothing to make the US safer.

We haven't had a strong economy (meaning a store of value) since at least 1910.
