If only that were the problem. It isn't so you're wrong.

It's looking like you've never owned one. May I make a suggestion? First off the platform in and of itself is designed to be personalized. Not everyone is built the same, so not every rifle fits each person. For instance you might choose for yours to be for hog hunting or some variety, so you'll need an optic that suits your distance and ground cover, and a 2 stage trigger to make a light and clean pull.

You may want a shorter one this is easier to more around, and there's a lot to changing that around. You may like a different grip or other contact surface that's your style. There's about 1,000 different things you can do with your own property to make it the way you like it. Some people change their motorcycles for different applications, some choose a weapon.

Well, neither are necessary and effective gun control laws, so...

I personally look forward to the ban! Lets just see how it effects mass shootings when confiscation isn't applied! The last ban under Clinton had very little impact on mass shootings and gun violence! Now there are literally a 100 million more assault weapons sold after 2004 and the lift of the ban and 10 of millions flying off the racks as we post! The wheels of politics are slow and this ban like the last will be tied up in court ling enough so that this country will soak itself in gunmetal, powder and lead.

Just like the last ban some things are left well enough alone, and this is one of them!!

:roflol:Ahhh, going with the old tried and false argument. If that were true, why have any laws? Why ban drugs, addicts will get them anyway. Why ban abortions, women will still get them.

Without confiscation it's at best ZERO.. The devils in the details.. And the DNC will not venture to far because data show that Democrats also enjoy their guns too ;) Between registered Independent and Democrats they possess MORE firearms then Republicans ;)

    Politicians love to be re-elected

An 80% lower is a block of aluminum with significant progress yet to go before it becomes a proper lower receiver for an AR pattern rifle.
Its not classified as a firearm, so you can just buy them. Whenever one of your ilk threatens to ban them, I go buy one.
I'm not modifying a rifle, I'm building additional rifles. Some will be long range precision shooting, I'm making a truck gun so that is going to be a 'pistol' (look at the ATF, not me), that kind of thing.

Though I might modify a rifle for any number of reasons: Ergonomics, wear on parts, superior durability or performance specifications for things like very long distance target shooting for practice or competitions, making the weapon compact enough or modular enough to fit into a glove box/console so it can be a truck gun, changing the gas systems to work with a suppressor etc, changing bits to fall into a certain 'aesthetic' normally of a particular model from a particular era.
Essentially like cars: All sorts of reasons, some for form, some for function.

I'm not even much of an AR guy, I prefer the AK myself. I've got a real nice milled AKML that I'm trying to find the original night scope for. Pig hunting is enjoyable, nutritious, and sadly necessary given their overpopulation in my area and is normally what I use that rifle for. Amazingly enough: It doubles well as home protection as a rifle that will stop a charging hog will sure as **** stop a man.

Gotta bring home the bacon. Don't have a problem with that. Changing to fit in a glove box? WTF for? A suppressor? WTF for?

Nancy Pelosi is a one hell of an investor.
I wonder how many assault rifles she and her Porche hubby have stacked behind their ice cream vault. ;-)

It kind of stuck with me lolol

Depends on what you use them for.
I have a deer rifle. I have an elk rifle. I have a 12 gauge for pheasants and a 20 gauge for grouse and woodcock.
