    I was thinking of the same thing. Leveraging Puerto Rico statehood with a conservative inland California at least Jefferson and maybe more so that there would be two new GOP senators along with two more democrats.

    I wonder if Ca coastal liberals would let us go and form another state out of inland eastern Ca. if the reward was a push in the senate and a net gain of five house seats. Probably seven seats set up 6-1 D over R in Puerto Rico.
