And your opinion is noted. That’s why I said “what I believe”.

    Take care now.

This is not a requirement in order to run for federal office. It is a requirement to have your name placed on the ballot.

That's known as a double standard you have to work under their rules and they have no rules at all.

Well, those three word may have been relevant if they had been accurate and put in to context. But there was NO strawman, and didn't insult you nor did I lie! So it wasn't relevant and made no sense to me ¯\_(º¸º)_/¯

First off, the documentation that was provided of the past 40 years was done so voluntarily. There is no Federal Law that requires submittals of tax returns of Presidential candidates.....and not all of them complied. For instance, Ford did not submit tax returns and Bill Clinton did not until AFTER he was elected. I think it is VERY unreasonable for different States to have different requirements to become eligible to be put on their ballots for Presidential elections.

Second, electors of States CAN NOT choose the candidate they wish....at least in many States. Some States have laws in place that declare the electors must submit a vote for the candidate that wins the popular vote in the State. More recently, some States have passed laws that their electors must cast their vote for the candidate that wins the National popular vote. These State Laws make it very relevant on who the people choose.

Simple solution, Trump finds blank 1040's for the past 5 years, runs a black marker through the areas to be filled in signs the forms and turns them over.

Nothing in the so called law requires the forms not to be redacted just turned over.

No one has said otherwise, next.

They are already required to file different forms oftentimes with a certain number of signatures. Strange how y’all haven’t spoken up against those?

All the above shows is that states are free to assign their electors as they wish. Thanks for basically reiterating what has already been discussed.

FALSE premise. Adding QUALIFICATIONS, to be ONE THE BALLOT, is not limiting those that can run. They just need to be WRITTEN IN. Which is admittedly an obstacle, to crooks.

A side effect of that massive popular vote defeat for Trump is that it would be delegitimized. Democrats may legitimately claim a popular vote win in 2016, but they would not be able to in 2020 if they keep Trump off the ballot. The vote totals would forever have an * next to them.

So go ahead, California, ya dummies ...

We are looking for transparency, correct?

I want to know who they're talking to, where they spend their money, where they vacation and who they associate with. I want to know what they donate to, what movies they watch, what their family thinks of them, how much debt they owe.

I could go on and on.

Asking for someone's tax returns in completely stupid and I'm not sure who started the trend or why, but nobody cares.

    Except hardcore Democrats.

Why stop at the presidency? Why not have every government official produce their tax returns? Is the president somehow special?

Which would be against the law.

No different than having all the ballots be in Mandarin so nobody knows what the **** it says.

I'm all for it if we want to eliminate ballots entirely and have everyone write something in.

I am fine with everything from local sheriff to POTUS being completely transparent.

And everyone who works for the TSA, DFAS, the Census Bureau, etc...

You never know who may be employed by the government. Gotta make sure they're all on the up and up.

I don't give two shits whether any Trumpettes want to bury their head in the sand about Trump's massive popular vote loss in 2020 by citing to some bullshit excuse about him not being listed on the ballot in certain states. Especially when that bullshit excuse is the result of him breaking his own promise when he said he would release his taxes.

****, Trumpettes already claim that the 2016 popular vote defeat he suffered was not real because of 3+ million examples of voter fraud that never came remotely close to being proven true.

This is nothing new. No one is automatically put on a ballot. There are requirements. It comes up more in primaries, but there have been case were candidates missed deadlines and their name was left off the ballot, requiring a write in campaign. Did not Lisa Murkowski once win with write in ballots?

Do note that the news story link is quoted- and that the first two paragraphs are directly quoted, they are the first two paragraphs of the news story itself.

    So what?

The GOP Primary will have no effect on Trump's Certain Renomination, and (even if it applied to the General) Trump has ZERO Chance of carrying Cali in the General Election, so this whole RW Faux Outrage "Controversy" is a moot point.

I find it interesting that some people cannot make a point without resorting to foul language, it really crushes any credibility they might of had.

Trump supports like to point to the fact that there is no law about presidential candidates releasing their tax returns, so naturally now that California is making one, it's rigging the election by "preventing" trump from being on the ballot because of doesn't want the people to know who he is financially beholden to.

Exactly how dumb do you have to be to eat that crap?

With a net worth of almost 10 billion he is hardly financially beholden to anyone, versus a looser like Barry who went into office in debt and him and his wife came out as a multimillionaire.
